The May Day basket tradition involves secretly hanging small baskets filled with flowers, treats, or sweets on friends' and neighbors' doorknobs on May 1st. Originating from European spring festivals, it traditionally involves knocking or ringing the doorbell and running away before being spotted.

We celebrating spring and neighborly kindness by doing a little knocking and running away ourselves today! What a fun tradition!

Last week, residents in our Petals neighborhood went on a culinary exploration of Scandinavian countries. Swedish Meatballs, Lingonberries, Pannkakor, and Lefsa were enjoyed by all! Additionally, we were treated to seeing a photo of one of our own resident’s traditional Swedish dresses that she handmade years ago!

This year, the Fleurs de Villes FLORA Showcase featured over 15 couture-inspired floral mannequins created by local floral designers. The Mary Tyler Moore one might have been our favorite!
