Kick off the school year with FREE backpacks, school supplies, a food drive, and more—while supplies last! Children must be present to receive items.
✅ Immunizations available for those who qualify:
TVFC: $10 per dose for children (18 & under)
Adults (19 & over): $20
Sports physicals: $15
(Insurance accepted: CHIP, Medicaid, Aetna, Blue Cross, United Healthcare)

Hidalgo County Health & Human Services – Animal Control Division is excited to offer a No‑Cost Dog and Cat Microchip Clinic. This service helps ensure pets can be identified and safely returned if they are ever lost.

Pre‑registration is required. Here’s how it works:

Complete the pre‑registration form and select your preferred appointment time
We will call you to confirm your appointment and make every effort to accommodate your preferred time

Important: Only 50 microchips are available.

One pet per registration form (maximum of two pets per household)
Pets must be leashed or in a carrier
Rabies vaccination is required; proof must be presented at the event

Meet José G. González, who served Hidalgo County for 25 years and recently retired as our OSSF Supervisor in the Environmental Division. In rural areas without access to sewer systems, septic tanks are essential for protecting public health and the environment. As Hidalgo County continues to grow, we remain committed to ensuring every home has a safe, effective septic system that meets all state and local regulations.

We’re grateful for José’s leadership, dedication, and lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community. Wishing you a happy and well earned retirement, José!
