The OSAR Program (Outreach, Screening, Assessment, and Referral) at the Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Department helps individuals and families access treatment and recovery support for substance use disorders. In partnership with Tropical Texas Behavioral Health, we are working together to expand access to quality behavioral health services delivered with respect, dignity, cultural sensitivity, and a focus on recovery. February is American Heart Awareness Month, and in our latest video, Dr. Melendez highlights the higher risk of cardiovascular disease in our Hispanic community due to hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. Education and early detection matter, which is why our public health clinics and new lab services are here to support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Raising awareness, increasing access to care, and promoting healthy lifestyles can make a lasting difference in our community’s heart health. ❤️
