Meet Felipe Teyer, a Phlebotomist at DHR Health, proudly celebrating 12 years of service!

Felipe works closely with patients by drawing blood samples for lab testing and making sure they feel comfortable throughout the process. He takes pride in providing quality care and helping patients during their visit.

For Felipe, the most special part of his job is the connection he builds with patients. He enjoys seeing familiar faces who remember him by name and trust him with their care.

What he loves most about DHR Health is the opportunity it has given him to grow in his career while providing stability and support for his family.

A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Felipe says family is everything to him. Outside of work, Felipe enjoys camping, spending time at the ranch, and having barbecues with those he loves most.

Thank you, Felipe, for 12 years of dedication and compassionate care at DHR Health!

High blood pressure often develops quietly, without obvious symptoms, but over time it can affect your heart, brain, kidneys, vision, and overall health.

Factors like stress, lack of sleep, family history, diet, and inactivity can all play a role, which is why routine checkups and early conversations with a primary care doctor matter.

At DHR Health Clinic, our primary care providers help patients better understand their health, monitor changes early, and take steps to prevent more serious conditions in the future.

Congratulations to our DAISY Award recipient, Amanda Elaine Ramirez, RN, an honor that recognizes nurses for outstanding patient care and compassion.

During a hospital stay, Amanda brought an exceptional level of care to both the patient and his family. By staying responsive to their needs and managing care requests with confidence, she helped create a more comfortable environment and made each day feel more manageable.

“We can’t thank her enough for the difference she made in my dad’s and our family’s experience… Not once was she without a smile, and because of her, he no longer sees the hospital as a scary place. That means everything to us.”

Care like this does more than support a patient clinically. It changes how a family experiences the entire stay. At DHR Health, that level of care is carried through every interaction and every patient we serve across the Rio Grande Valley.

At DHR Health Women’s Hospital, patients have access to advanced maternal care with specialists trained to manage both routine and high-risk pregnancies, including conditions like preeclampsia.

As the only Level IV Maternal Facility in the Rio Grande Valley, we offer the highest level of care for mothers and babies when it matters most.
