💓 Bystanders saved his life. Everyday people — just like you.

Isaiah Creighton suffered cardiac arrest mid-workout. It wasn't paramedics who kept him alive — it was the people standing right next to him who knew CPR.

You could be that person for someone you love. We'll teach you how to give someone the best chance of survival.

🚨 MYTH vs. FACT 🚨

❌ MYTH: Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) only happens to people with a history of heart problems.

✅ FACT: For many people, sudden cardiac arrest is the first sign of an underlying heart condition.

SCA can happen to anyone, often without warning. That’s why learning CPR, knowing the signs, and increasing awareness can save lives. ❤️

EMT instructor Karl Arps’s CPR lesson quickly got real when he lost consciousness.

Students took turns doing chest compressions and called 911. By the time paramedics arrived, Arps had regained a pulse. https://wapo.st/4umUhGa

And just like that, they are ready for residency! 🩺✨

Yesterday, RGV CPR recertified 47 amazing 4th-year UTRGV medical students in basic life support. We first certified this exact group two years ago, and having been the School of Medicine's trusted training partner for the last six years, watching them reach this milestone is incredibly special.

To make this year even bigger, we also certified 20 of them in advanced cardiovascular life support —a first for our partnership!

Huge thanks to the team at CPR PLUS for partnering with us to make this massive training day a major success. We couldn't have done it without your help! 🤝

These brilliant future doctors graduate this week. Knowing we helped them secure the vital credentials they need for their upcoming residencies is both a proud and deeply humbling feeling.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! Go make us proud! 🎉🎓
