Dr. Michael Adame and Dr. Joel Solis recently lectured together at a dental conference, Dentist Who Care. They shared how medical and dental colleagues can collaborate together for the benefit of the patient. Their primary focus is for the patients who have sleep apnea or related conditions.

Unintentionally removing the CPAP device during the night. It's normal to wake up and find that you have accidentally removed the device. If the problem persists, consider setting an alarm to check if your device is still on.

In order to minimize the spread of COVID 19, The American Dental Association (ADA) and the Center of Disease Control (CDC) have heightened their recommendations and are recommending that all dentists only see patients who have pain, swelling, infection or trauma for the next 3 weeks. Please call our office if you are experiencing any of these issues as we have doctors and staff on call ready to meet your dental emergency needs. We are prepared to see patients under these conditions with appropriate protocols and sanitation procedures.

For patients with sleep apnea issues, thank you for choosing Adame Dental Sleep Medicine for your dental sleep medicine needs. If you are currently a dental sleep medicine patient or are being referred by a physician for consideration of an oral appliance to treat sleep apnea, please call our office to arrange for an appointment. At Adame Dental Sleep Medicine, the health of our patients and community is most important to us. Our doctors and staff are first and foremost concerned about the safety of our patients.

We are aware that you have questions and concerns about Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its health risks.

Our staff is closely monitoring the situation and the recommendations from the CDC and the Texas Department of State Health Services for the safety of our patients and staff.

We have always taken precautions to ensure patient safety. Some of the routine precautions we take include:
• Thoroughly disinfecting and sanitizing operatories after each patient
• Sterilizing instruments in-between every patient
• Staff and Doctors wash their hands and use hand sanitizer in between seeing every patient

In addition, we have started implementing:
• Sanitizing public areas (front lobby and front desk areas) more frequently (including but not limited to, remotes, pens, furniture, doorknobs, and light switches)

We request that you reschedule your appointment in case of the following circumstances:
• If you have been sick in the last few days and have had a fever, chills, or a cough
• If you have traveled outside of the US to China, Iran, Japan, Italy, or South Korea
• If you have been in contact with anyone who has been ill within the last 14 days

Your health is important to us, which is why our practice features a designated state-of-the-art sterilization area with the most advanced equipment.
