Yet today, nearly 360 crore animals and birds are slaughtered in India every year — almost one crore lives every single day. Many endure long transport, overcrowding, and stress, despite laws like the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter House) Rules, 2001 requiring humane treatment.

I am glad to join India Karuna Collaborative ( IKC) as a mentor, alongside like-minded individuals across communities working to raise awareness, encourage plant-based and compassionate choices, support policy reform, and reduce animal suffering while addressing climate change and public health.
