Sometimes a nature day is all you need! Getting outside and moving our bodies is an important part of everyday when the weather allows. ☀️
The people we serve at our Tabernacle Day Program enjoy being in their community especially if it means getting to simply bask in the sunshine.

We’re excited to introduce Marisol, our new Wellness Coordinator at Friends of Cyrus II. She is already making an impact in the moments that matter most. 🫶
Recently, Marisol spent time with one of our residents, Blair diving into the world of nursing, turning curiosity into a hands-on, confidence-building experience. It’s this kind of connection, where learning feels empowering and personal, that truly sets the tone for what we strive to create every day. 🫂
With her clinical background and natural ability to connect, Marisol brings both knowledge and heart to our community and we’re so excited for what’s ahead.

Skye stopped by our Millstone Day Program for her monthly visit, and as always, she brought all the love with her. From games of fetch to quiet cuddle time (and yes, plenty of treats), she made her rounds and lifted everyone’s spirits along the way.
Her visits have become something our participants truly look forward to. There’s just something about Skye that brings a sense of calm, comfort, and connection especially on days when it’s needed most.
We’re so grateful for the joy she continues to bring to our community 💫

April is Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month 💙🧩
We believe awareness is just the starting point. Real change comes through acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment—ensuring every individual is truly seen and heard for who they are.
This month, we celebrate neurodiversity, amplify voices, and commit to building spaces where people of all abilities can flourish.
This Easter, we were reminded of renewal, hope, and the promise of new beginnings.
At Friends of Cyrus II, we celebrated the transformative power of growth—in every individual, in every journey. May this season's spirit kindle renewed purpose throughout our community and beyond.
Wishing you and your loved ones a season filled with warmth, kindness, and meaningful reflection.

Our participants at the Tabernacle Day Program recently had the opportunity to give back to a meaningful part of our community. Participants and staff visited the Red Lion Police Department to present a small token of appreciation as a heartfelt thank you for their continued support and dedication.
This moment was more than just a visit. It was about connection. Our participants were excited to personally thank the officers who work every day to keep our community safe and build positive relationships with local organizations.
It’s moments like these that remind us how strong and supportive the Tabernacle community truly is. 💙

The FOCII Day Programs are excited to announce their upcoming blanket charity drive for the All Fur Paws Animal Hospital, located in Millstone, NJ. This facility provides emergency and routine care to so many animals and is conveniently located across from the Millstone Day Program. 🐱🐶🐰🐾
For about a month, we will be collecting gently used, or new blankets at both Day Program locations to be donated to their facility.
We are very excited for this partnership and look forward to integrating our day program participants even more into their community by giving back!

March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and we’re reminded of the resilience, adaptability, and strength within our community.
Last year, two of our programs came together after an unexpected fire at our Medford Program required everyone to transition into a shared space. While sudden change can be challenging, especially when routines and environments shift, the participants in both programs showed incredible flexibility and determination.
With the support of dedicated staff and a strong sense of teamwork, individuals adjusted to new routines, connected with new peers, and continued participating in their daily activities and programming. What could have been a difficult transition instead became a powerful example of community, support, and resilience.
This experience reminds us that when the right supports are in place, everyone can navigate change, build meaningful connections, and continue to thrive.
💙 This month and every month, we celebrate the strength, growth, and contributions of the developmental disabilities community.

Sam B. — Strong, Steady, Supported 💚
Every person’s journey is unique to them, and for Sam, finding the right support made all the difference.
Before coming to Friends of Cyrus II, Sam’s family shared concerns about his difficulty managing his anger, following directions, and staying on task. Sam needed a structured environment with compassionate and comprehensive care in order to succeed.
At first, Sam’s transition was not an easy one, but he showed incredible perseverance. The growth that followed has been inspiring to witness.
Today, Sam is managing his emotions with confidence, he has become more active in his community, and fosters healthy relationships with his housemates and staff. Sam has also successfully gained employment and takes pride in his responsibilities.
His Mom shared great appreciation for Sam’s house manager, Tanya, who has shown patience and real care that has helped Sam feel understood and supported.
We’re proud to be part of Sam’s journey and look forward to continuing to support his growth.
