Today’s Skincare Reminder – Center for Dermatology & Laser Skin Surgery

Today is a good day to check in with your skin. Seasonal changes, stress, and everyday environmental factors can quietly affect your skin’s health over time. Taking a few minutes each day to cleanse gently, moisturize, and apply sunscreen can make a lasting difference.

Healthy skin isn’t built overnight—it’s the result of small, consistent habits. If you’ve noticed changes in your skin or have questions about your routine, a dermatologist can help guide you toward the right care.

Take a moment today to care for your skin—it works hard for you every day. ✨

Weekend Skincare – Dermatologist Approved

Weekends are the perfect time to reset your skin and give it a little extra care. Dermatologist-approved routines don’t have to be complicated—focus on gentle cleansing, deep hydration, and protecting your skin barrier.

Use the weekend to slow down, remove makeup thoroughly, apply a nourishing moisturizer, and don’t skip sunscreen if you’re spending time outdoors. A consistent routine, even on relaxed days, helps your skin recover from the stress of the week and keeps it healthy long term.

Healthy skin isn’t about complicated routines—it’s about simple habits that you stick with. ✨

That burst of pollen you notice after an early spring frost isn’t just tough on allergies—it can affect your skin too 🌼

When temperatures begin to rise after a frost, trees release large amounts of pollen into the air. For people with sensitive skin, eczema, or seasonal allergies, this can trigger irritation, redness, itching, or flare-ups. Pollen can settle on your skin throughout the day, especially on the face, neck, and hands.

During high-pollen days, washing your face after spending time outdoors, keeping skin moisturized, and avoiding harsh products can help reduce irritation. If spring allergies are causing persistent skin reactions or flare-ups, a dermatologist can help you find relief.

As winter fades and spring approaches, it’s the perfect time to refresh your skincare routine 🌷

Changing temperatures, increased humidity, and more time outdoors can all affect your skin. Consider switching to a lighter moisturizer, keeping your sunscreen routine consistent, and gently exfoliating to remove the dryness winter may have left behind. Spring is also a great time to check in with your dermatologist and make sure your skin is healthy and ready for the sunnier months ahead.

A few small adjustments now can help your skin glow all season long. ✨

Snow days are fun—but your skin may not agree ❄️

Cold air, wind, and reflected UV rays from the snow can all take a toll. Freezing temperatures strip away moisture, leaving skin dry, tight, and irritated. Plus, snow reflects up to 80% of the sun’s UV rays, increasing your risk of sunburn—even on cloudy days.

Before heading out, apply a rich moisturizer, don’t skip sunscreen (yes, even in winter!), and protect exposed areas with scarves and gloves. A little extra care can help your skin stay healthy while you enjoy the snow.

Ever wonder what brings most patients to a dermatologist? 👩‍⚕️✨

The most common reasons include acne, suspicious moles or skin cancer screenings, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, warts, and chronic dry or irritated skin. Many patients also visit for anti-aging treatments, sun damage, or cosmetic concerns like brown spots and fine lines.

If something on your skin is new, changing, painful, or simply not going away—it’s worth getting checked. Healthy skin isn’t just about appearance; it’s about protection, prevention, and peace of mind.

Your feet need skincare too 👣

Dermatologists don’t just treat the face—we care for skin from head to toe. Dry, cracked heels, fungal infections, warts, nail changes, and slow-healing sores are all common concerns we see, especially during colder months or in patients with diabetes.

If you notice persistent itching, discoloration, thickened nails, or wounds that aren’t improving, don’t ignore it. Healthy feet are an important part of overall skin health—and early treatment can prevent bigger problems down the road.

💗 We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love, laughter, and maybe a little indulgence! 💐🍫

After the sweets, late nights, and makeup from celebrations, don’t forget to show your skin some love too. ✨ Remove all makeup before bed, cleanse gently, and apply a hydrating moisturizer to help restore balance. A little post-celebration care goes a long way in keeping your glow healthy and bright.

🌬️ Winter Wind Got Your Skin Feeling Chapped? ❄️

Cold air and harsh winds can strip your skin of its natural moisture, leaving it tight, dry, and irritated. The good news? A few simple tweaks can make a big difference.

✨ Use a rich, barrier-repairing moisturizer before heading outside
🧣 Cover exposed skin with scarves or hats to block the wind
🚿 Skip hot showers—they can worsen dryness
💋 Don’t forget lips and hands; reapply balm and hand cream often

Protecting your skin from windburn now helps keep it healthy and comfortable all winter long.

A little reminder for today: your skin feels the season you’re in 🌬️
Cold air outside and dry heat indoors can quietly strip moisture from your skin, even if you don’t notice it right away. Staying hydrated, moisturizing consistently, and being gentle with your skincare routine can go a long way this time of year. If your skin feels tight, itchy, or irritated, it may be time to give it some extra care—or check in with a dermatologist for guidance.

Extreme cold can be especially harsh on your skin 🥶
Freezing temperatures, biting winds, and low humidity strip away moisture, leaving skin dry, cracked, red, and irritated. Protect your skin by switching to a heavier moisturizer, limiting hot showers, using gentle cleansers, and covering exposed areas when outdoors. Don’t forget lips and hands—they’re often the first to suffer. If extreme cold triggers persistent dryness, eczema flare-ups, or painful cracks, a dermatologist can help keep your skin healthy all winter long.
