ACI Employment Services

Services developed to help prepare transition students and adults with disabilities for the world of Referrals are required through DVRS/DDD.

ACI's Employment Services have helped hundreds of people with disabilities prepare for competitive employment. We work with transition age youth as well as adults on identifying career interests and goals, interview skills, social skills in the workplace and working as a team, among other important skills. Our consumers were given an exciting opportunity to tour an Amazon fulfillment center, providing an inside look at the bustling world of package processing. During the visit, they observed how packages move seamlessly through various stages, from sorting to shipping, gaining a firsthand understanding of the logistical operations that deliver products to their doorsteps. Visitors were able to see the advanced technology and efficient workflows that make Amazon’s rapid delivery possible. The tour also offered a glimpse into the work life of fulfillment center employees, highlighting the teamwork and dedication required to keep the operation running smoothly. Participants left with a greater appreciation for the behind-the-scenes efforts involved in e-commerce fulfillment. This experience not only educated but also inspired a new perspective on the complexity and innovation behind online shopping.

Our Story

It's All About Work is a program developed by the New Jersey Association of Centers for Independent Living in conjunction with the NJ Division on Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) to help prepare transition students and adults for the world of work and inclusive community living. This comprehensive program, is designed to meet the challenges faced by persons with disabilities whose goal is to obtain employment. ACI works with school districts in Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties to bring It's All About Work curriculum to its transition students (age 14 to 21). Individuals receiving DVRS services will benefit from the aspects of the program geared towards adults who wish to enter the workforce. It's All About Work offers its components through group instruction, with some individual instruction when needed.
