In September, students enrolled in our Alternative Education Institute (AEI) program took on genetics by building and presenting Punnett squares — a creative way to learn how traits are inherited.

The AEI program is a comprehensive program delivered in a non-traditional learning environment for youth (ages 16–17 with parental consent) and adults. AEI students can choose between two tracks — English or Spanish — and meet virtually or in person each week to sharpen their skills and move closer to earning their New Jersey State High School Equivalency Diploma. Beyond graduation, AEI continues to support students with pathways into post-secondary education, trade school, and employment opportunities. Interested in joining? Visit our website or contact us today to learn more!

✅ Eligibility Requirements
• Must be at least 16 years old with parental consent
• Must not be enrolled in school or any other educational program
• Must live in Middlesex County, NJ
• Must provide valid NJ state ID, income, and address verification
• Must be able to commit to our 6-month educational program

🗓️ Schedule
• English students: Tuesdays, 5–6 PM (virtual)
• Spanish students: Saturdays, 9 AM–12 PM (virtual or in-person) — open only to applicants who can speak, read, and write in Spanish

At JRF, we’re proud to offer AEI as part of our mission to expand opportunity, empower learners, and strengthen communities.

On behalf of the JRF Board of Directors, the CEO, Alexandra Mansonet, and the entire Jewish Renaissance Foundation family, we are thrilled to announce the 2025 Annual Fundraising Gala which will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the beautiful Park Chateau Estate & Gardens in East Brunswick, NJ.

This year’s theme, “30 Years of Service, 25 Years of Youth Empowerment, and 10 Years of Care: One People, One Heart,” is especially significant as we celebrate three major milestones in JRF’s history:
·30 years since JRF was established in 1995 as a faith-based nonprofit and recognized in 2009 as the Community Action Agency for Middlesex County East.
·25 years of service to the youth of Perth Amboy through our School-Based Youth Services Program.
·10 years since receiving our designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
Each year, JRF proudly serves more than 6,000 individuals in Middlesex County through programs in health and human services, family development, school-based services, adult education, community coordination, nutrition support, and emergency assistance.

With the support of our partners, grantors, community leaders and stakeholders, we continue empowering youth, families, and participants of all cultures and faiths—building a stronger, healthier community for generations to come.

Additional details on the evening’s highlights, including the reception, entertainment, and honorees, will be announced soon. For information on how to take part in celebrating JRF’s legacy and future, while supporting meaningful change in your community, please visit:

As we celebrate Rosh Hashanah, families gather to pause and reflect — to look inward, seek renewal, and embrace hope for the year ahead. With Yom Kippur soon to follow, these traditions of reflection and atonement remind us of values that transcend faith, culture, and circumstance.
At the Jewish Renaissance Foundation, we believe in creating opportunities and support for all people, regardless of background or economic status. May this New Year inspire unity, compassion, and a shared commitment to building a brighter future together.

Shanah Tovah! Wishing you a year of peace, hope, and possibility.

Congratulations to our very own JRF Board President, Wilda Diaz, who was honored today at the Scouting America 11th Annual Tribute to Women Awards Luncheon alongside an inspiring panel of honorees!

In addition to her leadership on our Board, Wilda serves as Vice President and Branch Manager at Popular Bank and brings more than 30 years of experience in banking, government, and community leadership. She made history in 2008 as Perth Amboy’s first female mayor and the only elected Hispanic woman mayor in New Jersey, serving 12 years while also directing the police department. During her tenure, she prioritized transparency, youth and family initiatives, housing and redevelopment, and financial stability. Beyond Perth Amboy, her leadership has earned numerous accolades, including induction into the New Jersey League of Municipalities’ Hall of Fame, the Evangelina Menendez Trailblazer Award, the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership Award, and recognition as a “Latina Trailblazer” by Latino Justice and “Mujeres Destacadas” by El Diario La Prensa.

Wilda, congratulations again and thank you for your commitment to the JRF and the communities we serve!

International Day of Charity | September 5 🤝
Did you know the UN established the International Day of Charity in honor of Mother Teresa’s legacy of selfless service? This day reminds us that even the smallest act of kindness can spark lasting change.

At JRF, our mission is to empower underserved communities through education, health and human services, community development, and youth programs. Charity is not just about giving—it’s about uplifting, equipping, and transforming lives.

Today, we celebrate all volunteers and members who serve in programs like the JRF AmeriCorps Program—where individuals serve their country while tackling our nation’s most pressing challenges.

Here’s how you can make a difference at the JRF:
