Today, we celebrate World Social Work Day and recognize the incredible impact social workers have in strengthening individuals, families, and communities.

For School Social Work Week, the 1st week of March, we highlighted our School Base social workers, Anyelina and Rose. Today we are proud to highlight our Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Gail Hillman, LCSW, from the JRF Community Health Center, whose compassion, expertise, and dedication help ensure our patients receive truly comprehensive care.

Social workers in community health centers play a vital role in supporting the whole person. Gail helps patients navigate life’s challenges by providing:

🔹 Mental health counseling and emotional support
🔹 Crisis intervention and care coordination
🔹 Connections to community resources and social services
🔹 Guidance for families facing housing, financial, or life stressors
🔹 Support that promotes long-term health, stability, and well-being

Through her work, Gail helps make healthcare more accessible, compassionate, and empowers the community we serve.

If you or someone you love could benefit from supportive services, we are here for you. JRF Community Health Center offers care for all income levels through our sliding fee scale, so no one is turned away from the support they need.

Day 4: A Self-Care Arts Day (Thursday 3/12)
On Thursday of AmeriCorps Week, it was all about self-care and team building. The JRF AmeriCorps members traded service tasks for an afternoon of creativity, reflection, and connection—using art and guided conversation to recharge and strengthen their bonds. Moments like these remind us that caring for our community starts with caring for ourselves.
