"After a 25 year career in the fire service as a Firefighter and EMT, I’m excited to share some of the things I was trained to do. Learning CPR and First Aid is one way to give back to the community and help others in their times of need. Having the opportunity to assist people in learning these skills along with meeting new individuals is such a rewarding next chapter of life for me. It just takes one person to make a difference in someone’s life. If everyone helps one, this world will be a much better place.

I enjoy spending my free time at Lake Eufaula with my wife, kids and three dogs. I also enjoy playing pickleball and doing small landscaping projects."

Six-year-old Oscar Stuebe was playing center field. When a batter hit a pop fly, Oscar took off running, It looked like he'd made the catch. Then the ball dropped. Oscar bowed his head and collapsed.

Instead of hitting his glove, the baseball had hit him in the chest, throwing his heart out of a normal rhythm and causing it to stop beating. Cardiac arrest caused by a blow to the chest is known as commotio cordis. It's what happened to Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin.

Oscar's dad, Riley, ran from the dugout. His mom, Sarah, called 911 as she ran from the stands. She went into "nurse mode," pushing hard and fast in the center of his chest. First responders got his heart beating, but Oscar's prognosis depended on how long his brain had gone without oxygen.

Two days later, Oscar woke up. Today he's safe and healthy. ❤️

🚨 **OK Task Force 1 Deploying to Conover, NC in Response to Hurricane Helene** 🚨

A specialized team of first responders from Oklahoma is answering the call! 10 OKC Firefighters, 2 Oklahoma City Police Department police officers, 1 City of Oklahoma City - Government IT technician, 1 Norman Firefighter, 1 Tinker Firefighter, and 1 Yukon Firefighter left the OKC Police/Fire training center at 6:00pm. As a Type 1 Swift Water Rescue Team, OKC Task Force 1 will assist in life-saving operations in areas impacted by flooding.

Our thoughts are with this team as they travel to support those in need in North Carolina. Stay safe, and thank you.
