Pets are a valuable part of our family so we want to highlight our Pawsome Pets so we created this new series. Enjoy! (Thanks to Kammi Henry for producing this new series for us.)

Villagio of Bradford Village’s Pawsome Pup of the Month spotlight is Meelo, a spirited Cuban Havanese who has proudly claimed Ralph as his human for close to 9 years. Meelo and Ralph have been Villagio of Bradford Village residents since February 2024.

Meelo knows that exercise is the key to a happy life, and he insists on taking Ralph for daily walks throughout our community. Their daily trails usually include walking along the back porch of the Assisted Living greeting residents along the way and, of course, visiting the dog park. Of the two gates at the dog park, Meelo has deemed one gate as an entrance only and the other gate as an exit only. When Meelo has decided Ralph has had enough exercise, Meelo will sit at the exit gate, letting Ralph know it is time to go home.

Meelo also keeps Ralph young at heart by playing games such as fetch. Meelo will share his favorite toy, a squeaky stuffed giraffe, during game time. When Meelo has determined Ralph has played long enough, Meelo picks up his giraffe and puts him away.

Meelo is a faithful companion to Ralph and makes sure Ralph gets plenty of rest. In fact, Meelo will let Ralph know when it is time to go to bed by getting out of his crate and jumping up to lay at the foot of Ralph’s bed.

Meelo loves to go for rides in the car and keeps wondering when Ralph is going to teach him to drive. If you see Meelo taking Ralph for a walk or ride around the community, be sure to say hello and shake paws.
