Swift Physical Therapy

Swift Physical Therapy swiftwellnessok.com Season has been trained in Manual Therapy techniques for over 17 years. Each person is unique and responds differently to treatment.

She performs a comprehensive examination of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints and fascia [connective tissue]) to see how the body is working as a whole. Injury, disease and/or surgical intervention affecting one part of the body can directly or indirectly affect another part. She looks at the body as a whole unit and works on compensations we have from past injuries, surgeries, etc. She looks to treat the source of the issue; not patching the issue and waiting for it to arise again. The body is capable of compensating for long periods of times without symptoms. Problems begin when the body can no longer compensate and function efficiently. Season will screen your spine from base of head to sacrum to check for the area of greatest restriction. This will help her identify the key area that needs to be treated first. She uses gentle techniques to help your body re-align, such as muscular contractions and muscle balancing. After she adjusts that area, she’ll screen you again until all areas exhibit increased movement (no more hitch in your get-along). Some soreness may occur as the body adapts to the changes and increases mobility of the tissues. Additionally, this soreness may also be a result of increased circulation resulting in a detoxification process. Regardless of the result of the soreness, the discomfort usually resolves within 48 - 72 hours. Drinking plenty of water helps to decrease the soreness. In our experience, most patients receive a 50 - 70% improvement in at least some of their symptoms within 6 visits. We have found that initially a treatment frequency of once every 2 - 3 weeks is most beneficial, and then as the symptoms decrease, the frequency of visits also decreases. Usually the client notices changes in flexibility and/or symptoms within the first 1 - 2 treatments. Duration of relief will normally increase as the number of tight areas decrease. Remember every client's treatment will be individualized to meet specific needs in response to treatment. Manual Therapy can be used for prevention and wellness. When restrictions are removed from muscles and joints, it allows the body to function at a higher level. Then, more energy is freed up to respond to the environment and be used for work, play, and recreation. This gift of prevention can enhance sports performance, decrease degenerative changes, and optimize health potential. Wellness and prevention is not covered by insurance and is not related to injury or ailments. This care does not require a prescription.

Bunions don’t just affect your foot—they can impact everything all the way up your chain.

There are simple ways to support them, and when you combine a few, the results can be a game changer.

✨ We started by mobilizing the first toe joint
✨ Added kinesiology tape to gently support alignment + improve proprioception
✨ Reinforced it with intrinsic foot strengthening + balance work
✨ And talked through switching to a wide toe box shoe

Proper toe alignment = wider feet, improved mobility, stability and full body impact!

I've been doing this a long time and have touched thousands of craniums and I'm still amazed. We are wonderfully made!

Most providers were never taught how much influence the cranium has on the rest of the body.

Cranial restrictions can affect the nervous system, venous drainage, cranial nerve mobility, and whole-body mechanics. When the cranium isn’t moving well, the body often has to compensate in ways that show up far away from the head.

In our Cranial Manual Therapy course, we focus on practical, hands-on skills that help providers identify and treat these restrictions with precision.

In this class you’ll learn:

• How to screen cranial sutures to find the primary restriction
• How cranial mechanics influence the nervous system and regulation
• The role of the cranium in venous drainage of the brain
• A functional understanding of cranial nerves and their mobility
• Hands-on techniques to restore fluid motion of the cranium
• How cranial restrictions can create whole-body effects

This course is designed for providers who already evaluate, diagnose, and treat, and want to expand their manual skillset and understanding of cranial mechanics.

If you’ve ever felt like the cranium might be the missing piece in complex cases… this class is for you.

Best part of our job? No two patients are the same.

This week alone we worked with a wide range of bodies and stories—each bringing their own patterns, restrictions, and goals. Our job is to find where the system is stuck and help guide the body back toward balance and homeostasis… so it can do what it’s designed to do: heal!

If you ever feel "off", stuck, or out of alignment, give us a call - we'd love to help!

This is proper infant breathing.

Here’s what to look for:

👃🏽 Lips gently closed
👃🏽 No chin dimpling
👃🏽 No chest heaving
👃🏽 Quiet nasal airflow
👃🏽 Tongue resting up — not down in the floor of the mouth

When the tongue is suctioned to the palate, it helps:
• Shape proper jaw development
• Support sinus and airway growth
• Regulate the nervous system
• Improve feeding and swallowing
• Lay the foundation for lifelong nasal breathing

If your baby mouth breathes, clicks while nursing, struggles with reflux, or seems tense through the neck and head — those can be signs of restriction.

We love being part of your baby's care team at Swift PT - we assess and treat the cranium, fascia, and airway mechanics to help babies breathe, feed, and develop optimally👶🏽

We can't help it. We just want everyone to feel good! got caught being amazing in public😍
