Dry eyes are common, but you might be surprised at what's contributing to your discomfort.
Here are 5 factors that could be at play:
- Reduced tear production: Aging or certain medical conditions can decrease tear production, leading to dryness.
- Digital eye strain: Hours on your computer or phone? That screen time could be drying out your eyes.
- Environmental factors: Wind, dry air, and smoke can all increase tear evaporation.
- Eye health conditions: Conditions like blepharitis can affect your eyes' moisture.
- Medications: Certain prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs might be drying you out.
Don't settle for discomfort! Reach out to us for solutions tailored to your lifestyle and needs.

It is important to remember that there is more to vision and eye care than just receiving new glasses or contact lenses. The eye is a window into the body, allowing the doctor to visualize blood vessels and nerves in the normal state and to detect various diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, cornea disease, and macular degeneration. With a comprehensive eye examination, subtle or even unknown health conditions can be detected and the appropriate treatment initiated, preserving one of God’s greatest blessings in our life – eyesight.
The staff at Stonebridge Eye Care want each patient to feel important and appreciated. Each staff member prepares to take certification examinations as a part of employment here and attends continuing education courses to learn about ways to better care for your eye care needs. Whether it involves asking questions about your previous eye experiences, or discussing options for your next fashion eyewear selection, our staff members want to do everything possible to ensure you see and look the best.
