✨ New Episode + Blog Post ✨

It Didn’t Look Like Trauma, Episode 4: Inside the Healing Process is out now.

Healing from childhood wounds isn’t about “getting over it.” It’s about slowly retraining your body and brain to expect safety where it once learned danger. In this episode, I’m sharing what the actual process of healing looks like—inside the therapy room and in real life.

If you’ve ever wondered what therapy really helps with (beyond worksheets and coping skills), this one’s for you.

✨ New episode is live: Let’s Talk About Attachment

If you’ve ever wondered why some relationships feel safe and others feel… hard—this one’s for you.

We’re diving into how attachment forms, what happens when our early needs aren’t met, and why that still matters in adulthood.

🧠 Not every wound is traumatic. But every wound matters.
💛 You’re not broken—you adapted.

You don’t find strength when everything’s going right.
You find it in your weakest, most broken moments. The ones where your heart is heavy, your spirit is tired, and giving up would be easier, but you keep going anyway.

That’s what real strength looks like. Not pretending you’re okay. Not pushing your feelings down just to keep the peace. But getting up, showing up, and trying again and again.

You are practicing strength every single day you choose to heal, even when no one sees it. Even when the tears come. Even when your progress feels nonexistent.

You’re not failing because it still hurts.
You’re strong because you’re still standing.

Let that be enough today.💚

Your self-worth isn’t built overnight.
It’s nurtured — slowly, quietly — by the way you speak to yourself each day.

Think of it like a plant.

When you speak with kindness, patience, or even just neutrality… you’re giving it light, water, and space to grow.

But when your inner voice is harsh, shaming, or cruel — it’s like pouring bleach on the roots. Nothing can thrive in that.

You don’t need to be relentlessly positive.
But you do deserve a voice inside you that speaks with respect.

Start with small shifts: “I messed up” becomes “I’m human.”
“I’m such a failure” becomes “I’m struggling — and that’s allowed.”

Your self-talk shapes the ground you grow from.
So let it be honest… and gentle.

🌿 The Podcast Has a New Name 🎙
Let’s Sit With This: Simple tools and honest talk for when life feels heavy.

My vision for the podcast grew — so the name and feel needed to grow with it.

Let’s Sit With This is a space for what we’re not meant to carry alone: trauma, anxiety, grief, overwhelm.
Each episode offers something simple — a grounding skill, a steady voice, or a few honest minutes to help you breathe again.

This isn’t therapy. But it is the kind of support I hear people wish they had in the hard, in-between moments.
No pressure to be okay. Just a place to land.

This week, we pause to honor the lives lost in the line of duty—and to recognize the weight that law enforcement families carry every day.

As both a therapist who works with first responders and a police wife, National Police Week holds deep meaning for me. It’s not just symbolic—it’s personal.

I wrote this post to hold space for grief, sacrifice, and the quiet strength of those who serve and those who love them.

💙 To the ones we’ve lost—we remember you.
💙 To the ones still serving—you are seen.
