This week's employee spotlight is Maria Guzman. Maria is one of our dedicated medical assistants at Immediate Care.
She was born in Guymon, Oklahoma then grew up in Spearman, Texas before moving to Oklahoma City about 10 years ago with her family for her dad's job. Maria currently works at our Healthplex clinic and has been an important part of the team ever since she joined.
Her passion for the medical field has always been clear. While she didn't know exactly where it would lead, she was drawn to urgent care because of the wide variety of patients and the fast-paced, hands-on environment.
She recently applied to the nursing program at OCCC and plans to become a nurse practitioner, with a goal to specialize in cardiology and eventually work in the ER. Maria's favorite part about working at Immediate Care is the wide variety of patients who walk through the door. She loves that every day is different.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys going to the gym, shopping, and sun tanning, and most
importantly, she enjoys spending time with her family. She comes from a big family-she
has 2 older sisters, and two 2 younger sisters, her dad is the only guy in the house
with his wife and 5 daughters!
If Maria could have lunch with anyone, it would be her great-grandfather. She's heard
crazy life stories about him, and she never got a chance to meet him so she would love to hear those stories from him.
We're grateful to have Maria on the ICO team-her drive, kindness, and team spirit make her an essential part of the Healthplex family.
