This Week's Employee Spotlight is Tasha Davis!

Tasha is one of our dedicated Medical Assistants at our Tecumseh clinic.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Tasha has deep roots in the community and brings that hometown heart into everything she does.

Tasha has been with ICO for a year, after spending 3–4 years working in hospice care. While that work was meaningful, she knew it was time for a change—and that path led her to ICO.

Her favorite part of working at ICO is taking care of the patients. Tasha truly shines when she’s helping others, and she enjoys building relationships—especially with the many repeat patients we see in Tecumseh. Her compassion, positivity, and genuine care don’t go unnoticed. She loves that each day is different.

Outside of work, Tasha loves spending time with her three kids, going to the park, and watching movies together. She also enjoys solving problems and finding solutions, which makes her an incredible asset to the clinic.

If Tasha could have lunch with anyone, it would be Blake Shelton—she’d love to hear his story.

We love having Tasha on our team and are thankful for her positive attitude, strong rapport with patients, and the way she truly shines her light on others. With her great smile and uplifting laugh, she brings joy wherever she goes.

This weeks Employee Spotlight is RIcky Livermore!

Ricky was born and raised in OKC and has been part of the ICO family for one year.

He’s a big sports fan, especially when it comes to basketball—whether he’s watching the game or out on the court playing himself.

Ricky was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by his mom. She has always worked in the health field and loved helping people.

As he grew up and saw his mom work in the medical field, that left a lasting impact on him. He wants to help others the same way she did. Taking care of patients runs in their family.

If Ricky could have lunch with anyone, it would be Drake. He finds Drake inspirational and appreciates the positive energy and music he puts out.

Fun fact about Ricky is that when he was born; he was never supposed to walk. Seeing him today, you would never know it!

His favorite part of the job is knowing he’s making a real impact. He enjoys helping patients feel better, both physically and emotionally. Patients come in feeling their worst, he can help them smile or have a better day even though they are sick or injured.

We are thankful for Ricky's flexibility, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in and help—not just in his own clinic, but across all our clinics whenever needed.

ā¤ļøšŸ’™Happy Valentine’s Day from your Immediate Care Family! It’s the season of love, filled with heart-shaped decorations, sweet treats, and thoughtful cards. But amidst all the celebration, we want to remind you about the most important heart of all—your own! Take care of it, and it will keep beating strong for all the moments that matter most. šŸ’™ā¤ļø

Here are a few simple tips to show your heart some love:

šŸ’™Know Your Numbers: Understanding your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels is the first step.

ā¤ļøMove Your Body: Even small amounts of regular exercise can make a big difference. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity most days of the week. Think brisk walking, cycling, or even dancing!

šŸ’™Eat Heart-Healthy Foods: Load up on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Limit processed foods, saturated fats, and sugary drinks. A colorful plate is often a good indicator of a nutritious meal.

ā¤ļøManage Stress: Chronic stress can take a toll on your heart. Find healthy ways to manage stress, such as yoga, meditation, or spending time with loved ones.

šŸ’™Get Enough Sleep: Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night. Rest is essential for your body and mind, including your heart.

This Valentine's Day, make the commitment to prioritize your heart health. It's the best way to ensure you can enjoy many more Valentine's Days to come!

This week's employee spotlight is Kindal Connor!

Kindal was born and raised in Moore, Oklahoma, and has been an important part of the ICO family for 2½ years. She originally came to ICO to gain experience, but along the way, something bigger happened. After listening to patients’ stories and seeing the impact of community-based care firsthand, Kindal felt inspired to change her major to pre-med, with a strong focus on community health.

Kindal is passionate about meeting people where they are, especially when it comes to mental health. She’s deeply interested in studying the disease of the mind and wants to be part of the solution for individuals who often feel unseen or unheard. She’s currently planning to graduate in 2026, and her future is incredibly bright.

Her favorite part of working at ICO is the community. Through ICO, Kindal has met so many like-minded people—including her best friend, who is now also her roommate, a friendship that started right here at the clinic.

Outside of work, Kindal enjoys drawing, reading, and taking walks outdoors, finding peace in creativity and fresh air. If she could have lunch with anyone, it would be Michelle Obama. She’d love to hear about her journey, what challenges she faced, what advice she might offer, and what her plans are now.
Fun fact: Kindal took Russian in college to fulfill her language credits! Her classes were super small—only 10 students—which made the experience even more unique.

We are incredibly thankful for Kindal’s diligence, kindness, confidence, empathy, and even her stubbornness. She brings thoughtfulness and purpose to everything she does, and ICO is better because of her.

This weeks Employee Spotlight is Rida Durrani!

Rida is one of our Medical Assistants at our Edmond Clinic! We are recognizing Rida for her wisdom.

A little bit about Rida…
Rida has been with Immediate Care for almost a year. She said her favorite part about working at Immediate Care is knowing that each day, no matter who she is working with, it will be a good day. Even if it is a crazy and stressful day, she can get through it with her co-workers. She said that she feels like she learns something new everyday, either about the medical field or even about her co-workers. Rida is currently a student at UCO and plans to go into the medical field, but she is still deciding what she would like to do.

If she could go to lunch with anyone past or present, she said it would be Princess Diana and she would want learn all of the details about the royal family. Outside of work Rida enjoys helping out at Surayya Anne Foundation, a non Profit organization here in OKC. When she is not at work she also does a lot of studying and enjoys hanging out with friends!

Rida was born in New Jersey and then her family moved when she was 1 year old and she has lived in Oklahoma ever since. A couple of fun facts about Rida are that she use to do kick boxing and one time she was chased by a monkey.

Rida became interested in the medical field because she is a people person and she wants to use medicine to help others. Rida excels at every aspect of the job. Her attention to detail when shooting X-rays is outstanding. In such a short amount of time, she has mastered that aspect of the job. She is also a quick learner as she was crossed trained on the job to help run the front one day that they were short staffed.

Thank you for everything that you do!

Can the flu vaccine give me the flu?
No, a flu vaccine cannot cause flu illness. Flu shots are
currently made in two ways: the vaccine is made
either with a flu vaccine viruses that have been killed
(inactivated) and are therefore not infectious, or with
proteins from a flu virus.

While a flu vaccine cannot give you flu illness, there
are different side effects that may be associated with
getting a flu shot. These side effects are usually mild
and short-lasting, especially when compared to
symptoms of flu.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Immediate Care encourages you to go to a specialist to have a screening test done regularly which could help find breast cancer early on when treatment is likely to work best.

According to the CDC, "Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms."
