Dr. Courtney Seacat

Dr. Courtney Seacat I am an Ob/Gyn with Integris Health Edmond. The posts are mine and do not reflect the views of Integris Health.

All,
Feel free to add pictures of your little ones delivered at Integris Health Edmond and give feedback about your experience with our clinic and hospital. This is my way to stay in touch with my patients/friends.

As the month comes to an end, I had to share this post. Excuse the language, but it made me laugh. 😆

Got to experience my work world 3 times on “the other side”! 🥰

The amazing nurses and physicians at INTEGRIS Health Edmond Hospital are more than just caregivers. They're moms who trusted the same amazing Labor and Delivery team for their own little ones. 🍼❤️

We deliver where we work because we know Edmond is where compassionate, expert care feels just like family. When it comes to our families, only the best will do.

For my pregnant ladies out there, I wanted to share this. Although not super common, it is still important to be aware of, especially when pregnant. Listeria is the reason why we say to avoid deli meat or at least heat it up in pregnancy.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a warning Friday about a deadly multistate listeria outbreak connected to deli meat.

PSA: Please do not believe everything you read or hear on social media (except my page😉), especially on TikTok. There is so much inaccurate information and fear mongering out there. I have yet to hear truly accurate information reported to me that a patient “saw on TikTok”. There is even information circulating out there that ob/gyns are stealing placentas and selling them for money. Some of it is ridiculous, but it can cause issues for the naive and impressionable. It can lead to unsafe behaviors and practices. Please don’t be afraid to ask your doctor anything. We have heard it all and that is our job to inform you. Also, if you want to read up on things, we always have resources. ACOG.org has loads of up to date and accurate information for gyn care and obstetrics.
Also, do I need to get a TikTok to spread this info? Are all the Gen Z ladies on TikTok and not Facebook now 🤔

Today was Dr. Julie Hansen’s last day in private practice. She is headed to be a hospitalist at OU Medical Center. She is the reason I found this job at Integris Health Edmond. She taught me as a first year resident at OU before she joined Integris Health Edmond. I still vividly remember her helping me, as a scared intern, with my first vacuum delivery. She then continued to help me grow and gain my confidence as a clinician and surgeon out of residency. She always has the best words of wisdom and advice. She is the mamma bear of our group and we are all going to miss her terribly. Cheers to your new adventure and more free time to garden, sleep, and be with all your boys (sons, dogs, and husband)! We love you Julie Gilmour Hansen! You truly are Spec-tacular!

Seacat boy number 3, Mason Martin Seacat, made his appearance fast and furious on Tuesday 12/19/23 at 6:38 am. 7lb 14 oz. I asked him to wait to come until I completed my schedule surgery, clinic, and planned induction for a patient on Monday. He listened, but did not waste much time. A few hours after I was done, he was here!
I will be on leave until March 1st. I am cherishing the time at home with my three boys, but I do hate to miss out on deliveries, surgeries, and seeing my patients in clinic. I know all my patients will be in great hands with my colleague, Beth Miller APRN, and my amazing partners.
Now, just need to figure out life outnumbered by kids. Wish us luck!
