How medication assisted theapy medicines work
1. methadone...full activity on the opioid receptor. long 1/2 life (duration of action) reduces cravings and desire to seek additional opioid medicines. it replaces other opioid medicines
2. buprenorphine (suboxone): generates a limited effect...like a car with a speed governor
