Here's a short video from our structure fire on Tuesday. This video shows the conditions as the first due engine was pulling up and then as they stretched their line to begin fire attack.
While the firefighting shows on tv may be entertaining, they rarely show the true conditions that firefighters face when working.

Yesterday afternoon Oak Cliff received a call for a structure fire on Aspen Way. 900, E91, BP91, and T91 responded immediately from Station 1. Aid from Deer Creek, Edmond, and Guthrie was also started. 900 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from all sides of the house with heavy smoke coming from the garage. Once the other units arrived on scene, crews made an aggressive interior attack and located the seat of the fire in the garage extending up into the attic. Initial crews were able to get a knockdown as aid and additional Oak Cliff units arrived on scene to assist. Thank you to Deer Creek Fire Protection District, Edmond Fire Department, Guthrie Fire & EMS , Edmond 911, Logan County Sheriff's Office, Logan County Emergency Management, and Miller EMS for the assistance.

Some exciting news! Congratulations to two of our interns for recently accepting full time firefighting positions. Jamison Spence has been an intern at Oak Cliff for a few years and has been hired at Midwest City Fire Dept. Greg Rome who just recently started as an intern at Oak Cliff just accepted an offer from Tulsa Fire Dept. Good luck to both as they start their new careers!

Yesterday your Oak Cliff firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire off of Timberland Dr. The structure was a new home under construction that was reported to be struck by lighting. First arriving crews initially had nothing showing before finding smoke coming from the Charlie side eaves during the 360. Upon entering the structure, the first hose line found black out conditions while advancing to the second floor. As additional crews arrived, a second hose line was put into play and crews were able to get a knockdown on the fire. Units were on scene for an extended period ventilating the structure and ensuring that the burned spray foam insulation throughout the attic was fully extinguished. Thank you to Edmond Fire Department, Edmond 911, Deer Creek Fire Protection District, Miller EMS, Woodcrest Fire Department, and Logan County Sheriff's Office for the assistance!
