A little late post but we truly believe EVERYDAY should be Women's Day! (and it absolutely is at Body Motion!) ✨🙌🏼

Over the weekend - Dr. Allison, Dr. Katrina, and Devyn attended and dropped some pelvic health knowledge at to help uplift, support, and help encourage those women who attended on the importance of always taking care of yourself!

As women, we tend to constantly put ourselves on the back burner but we deserve to take the time to give BACK to ourselves. Whether that's doing a purebarre lesson, attending a pelvic floor session, or even taking yourself out for a day of "YOU" - that is needed and is deserved.

Make sure you're filling your cup up and take care of your mind, soul, and body. ❤️

More Kegels isn’t always the answer.🚫

If your pelvic floor is tight and over-contracted, doing more Kegels can actually make things worse. That tension can limit your range of motion and make it almost impossible to truly activate your glutes—which is why so many women feel squats in their back or quads instead.

Real strength comes from:
✔️ Restoring pelvic floor range of motion
✔️ Activating your deep core (transverse abdominis)
✔️ Training your glutes to drive movement

When those systems work together, everything changes. 💛

A healthy pelvic floor isn’t about squeezing harder — it’s about restoring movement. 🙌🏼

At Body Motion, we assess all 3 layers of the pelvic floor, right and left sides, to find restrictions and bring movement back to the tissue. When the pelvic floor can lengthen, breathe, and get proper blood flow, everything improves:
✔️ Less back and hip pain
✔️ Better posture
✔️ More mobility
✔️ Healthier pelvic floor function

Sometimes it takes manual therapy + the right breathing tools to truly reset the system — and occasionally a tune-up to keep it healthy. 💛

We dive deeper into pelvic floor tension, what a hypertonic pelvic floor is, blood flow, and healing.

I wish I could tell you, that I can turn it off.
But I simply can't.

I have been reliving the scar tissue and abdominal wall and pelvic floor that I worked on yesterday.

This woman has had countless back procedures and neck surgeries.

And I can't get the "what ifs" out of my head.

But I'm eternally grateful she found us now.

Because I'm so confident we can help her take her life back.

She got off the table after the evaluation where I was able to perform treatment as well and she said, "wow my back already feels better, I can see how so much of this is connected now"

My response "just wait"

It's truly going to take some time but I know she can reclaim her life and it will be much faster than normal even though she is post menopausal (everything takes longer to heal after menopause) but with regenerative therapy like EMTT and shockwave therapy we will disintegrate the scars and regenerate healthy tissue much faster!

Pain with insertion isn’t “just how your body is.”
Burning, needing a long warm-up, or feeling too tight can be signs of superficial dyspareunia or vaginismus—often from tension or scar tissue in the pelvic floor.

The good news? Pelvic floor physical therapy can release that tension, restore blood flow, and help the tissue return to a healthier resting state. 💛

Painful s*x is common—but it’s not normal, and it’s treatable.

Gallbladder removal recovery

I'll say it again and again.
After any abdominal surgery it is crucial that you get the scars worked out and the organs moving.

The more scar tissue that lays down over time will eventually cause havoc. It is just a matter of time.

If you have had:
Hysterectomy
C-section births
Gallbladder
Tubal ligation
Laparoscopic surgery of any kind

Get your scars healed and your core working. You probably "feel fine" right now and are "healing well" but in 5,10,15, or 20 years you could be chasing pains that were completely avoidable if the scars were taken care of in the first place and the core healed.

Our very own Dr. Riley, the one who has helped so many women prepare their bodies and pelvic floors to bring their babies earthside through a beautifully prepared portal, truly understood the assignment. 💛

Over the weekend, she welcomed a very handsome little human into this world.

This one feels personal.

When Dr. Riley first started at Body Motion, it was training, refining our skills, deepening knowledge, growing together, mastering our birth prep protocols. Then came her own journey of preparing her body for birth… and now walking through that experience herself.

To witness her move provider to mother embodying everything we teach, is incredibly special.

We are so proud of Dr. Riley. And we are deeply grateful for the continued impact of Body Motion’s birth prep protocols not just for the families we serve, but within our own team.

Welcome to the world, sweet baby. 🤍

"Ideas aren't worth a lot...
It's the ex*****on that makes your ideas real" -Robin Sharma

When the lats and lower traps are weak or inhibited, we often see:
• pelvic floor overactivity
• bladder urgency
• pelvic organ prolapse
• poor pressure management
• urinary leakage

The bladder is supported not only by the pelvic floor and local ligaments, but also through global fascial continuity that connects the thoracolumbar region, lats, and lower trapezius to the pelvic fascia. These connections help regulate intra-abdominal pressure, pelvic organ support, and bladder positioning.

Hypertonic pelvic floor

S*x should never be painful.
If you’re gritting your teeth just to get through intimacy, your body is trying to tell you something.

Healthy pelvic floor range of motion is key for pain-free s*x, better body awareness, and actually being able to reach climax. And the good news? These muscles can be retrained. 💛

If you struggle with painful in*******se or vaginismus, please know: there is hope for pleasurable s*x again.
