40TH REUNION MEETING NOTES:
NEXT MEETING: 4/12/2023 6pm at Leftcraft in downtown Edmonds (ANYONE IS WELCOME)
WHO SHOWED UP: Tracy (Larion) Fleming, Linda (Hunter) Anderson, Michelle (Gusch) Welch, Dena (Taylor) Jameela, Julie (Soderlund), Sheri (Matysik) Henrikson, Rand Ingham, Robert Crocket, Mike Hause, Nancy (Lindstrom) Duffy
DATE: Saturday September 16, 2023. Based on interest level, we will build events from 9/15-9/17. But our focus will be to make sure we have a reunion on Saturday night.
WHERE: Depends on availability – we are looking into the following venues. If anyone has more ideas, we would like to hear from you. Our original idea was to be located in the Edmonds area.
• Edmonds Senior Center – Rand Ingham researching
• Salish Brewery 180 Dayton – Tracy (Larion) Fleming
• Edmonds Yacht Club
• Innis Arden Club – Shery (Matysik)
HOW TO FIND PEOPLE?:
• We need help, no one is really good at social media. Rand is going to ask his daughter to get us going and we can take it from there.
• We need everyone in our class to “like” the FB page – then reach out and invite other classmates they have contact with.
• Tracy, Linda & Nancy are admins of the FB page currently – anyone else interested let us know
• We need to combine the (2) FB pages into (1)
• Anyone in our class interested in putting together a simple website?
Actions:
• Rand is going to ask his daughter to get us going on FB
• Sheri & Julie are going to put together a class list from our yearbook
MONEY:
We decided we don’t want anyone NOT to come because it costs money. We want EVERYONE to show up if possible. The consensus was to ask for a “suggested donation”.
• Nancy to open up a WHS Reunion bank account
• Ask for “seed” money – so we can secure an event space
• Figure out a suggested donation – maybe $40-$60?
• Cost would cover Saturday night, all other events would be self pay
EVENTS:
• Saturday night 9/16/2023 6pm-9pm in Edmonds
• Saturday night 9/16/2023 spill into an Edmonds bar after 9pm
• Sunday – golf. Mike Hause to contact Jason Smith and do a little research
• Possible ideas:
o Pickleball at Edmonds-Woodway High School
o Breakfast meet up
o Walk/run meet up Saturday & Sunday morning in Edmonds
o Whale watching boat out of Edmonds – Michelle to look into pricing
ACTIVITIES FOR SATURDAY NIGHT:
• 80’s playlist – Robert & Tracy
• Photobooth or backdrop
o Life size picture of teachers?
o Props?
• Gather high school pictures – Robert was on yearbook
• Gather current pictures of people’s lives, families
• Play video from our prom – Nancy has VHS tape
• Mixer activities – Linda
o Name tags
o Games to mix us up and re-connect
FOOD FOR SATURDAY NIGHT:
• Depends on cost and where we secure a space, more to come
