We are so sad to hear of the passing of Zachary Lee Raney, a valued member of our community. When one in our community mourns, we all mourn. Our hearts and prayers are with his family and his EMS and fire department family during this difficult time. Zach’s dedication to helping others will always be remembered.

Zachary Lee Raney, 19, Glasgow, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025. A native of Barren County, he was the son of Jeremy Lee Raney and Jeanna Sue Ready Raney.

Zach was a graduate of Barren County High School and was presently enjoying his position as an EMT with the Barren-Metcalfe County Ambulance Service. He had also recently joined the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his parents Jeremy and Jeanna Raney; two brothers: Matthew and Aidan Raney; paternal grandparents, Judith and Ricky Raney of Tompkinsville; maternal grandparents: Trina Ready of Horse Cave, and Doug and Phyllis Ready of Horse Cave; aunts and uncles: Nathan and Amanda Brown, Jennifer Salgado, Jeremy Ready, and John and Jennifer Ready; along with a number of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Michael T. Swift Memorial Fund, PO Box 304, Glasgow, KY 42142-0304.
