MHCC had its farewell party celebrating its final days as a county owned facility.

Thank you to everyone who came out. Your dedication to service is most appreciated.

Since 1977, MHCC has given services to thousands of residents and rehab patients, all not-for-profit. We have weathered countless storms, hurdles, and changes. But one thing that will never change is our devotion to servicing the people of Metcalfe and surrounding counties.

New owners will be in operation as early as the 1st. The same spirit of excellence will be present as it was for MHCC.

🎄Holiday Joy at Our Resident Christmas Party

A celebration filled with laughter, music, and so many smiling faces. Our resident Christmas party was a wonderful reminder that the true spirit of the season is found in togetherness, kindness, and shared joy.

From festive decorations to heartfelt conversations, every moment reflected the love and appreciation we have for our residents. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special and to our residents who continue to make our community feel like home.

MHCC would like to invite former and current management, community leaders, Board members, and previous employees to our farewell gathering on December 29th from 6pm-8pm.

The staff will be sharing memories, offering finger foods, and saying farewell to “MHCC.”

Care will be given under a new name with new ownership, but we want to honor and appreciate all those who have helped get Metcalfe Health Care from 1977 to 2025.

🐦✨ A Little Joy with Feathers ✨🐦

Sometimes the smallest moments bring the biggest smiles. These sweet little birds have been such a joy for our residents and visitors, sparking conversation, laughter, and quiet moments of peace. Birds have been present at present at our center for years.

Watching them hop, chirp, and interact reminds us that joy does not have to be complicated. For many of our residents, these birds offer comfort, help reduce stress, and create meaningful daily moments to look forward to. For new visitors, they are often an unexpected delight that instantly brightens the room.

One resident used to watch them and tell stories about how she raised birds. She’d call her family and tell them to go buy more birds for the nursing home. With her health not where it used to be, the birds connected her to a place in her mind she hadn’t been able to go for a long time.

At our center, we believe a warm environment is about more than care. It is about connection, beauty, and moments that lift the spirit. 💛
