Lets talk about Mr.Calais and his rehab
journey. Mr. Calais is a 72 yr. old gentleman
that suffered a stroke on 06/15/25. He
suffered with left leg and left arm
weakness. Mr. Calais went through an
intensive acute hospital stay and was then
transferred to Anderson Rehabilitation
Institute on 06/19/25.
Prior to this event Mr. Calais was living in
his home with his wife completely
independent; however sometimes used a can
in the community.
Upon admission to Anderson Rehabilitation
Institute he was evaluated by PT, OT, Nursing
and Physician services. Physical therapy
evaluation noted he was dependent to be able
to walk 10 ft and could not stand without
assistance.
Occupational therapy evaluated this
gentleman and determined he required
moderate assist with bathing, dressing and
grooming.
After doing intensive PT and OT for seven
days Mr Calais was independent with
transfers, ambulation, car transfers and
walking 12 stairs. His OT accomplishments
were equally strong. He became independent
with all aspects of bathing, grooming, and
dressing.
Mr. Calais pictured above with one of his
therapist, Evan, was discharged on 06/27/25.
He was able to return home to his family and
leas a very normal happy life.
