We are beyond grateful to Dr. Jen's Hope Memorial Benefit Fund for choosing Dinners for Kids as one of this year’s beneficiaries. This incredible organization has uplifted so many nonprofits in Dr. Jen’s name, and we’re honored to be among them.

The event was filled with joy and generosity! Over 50 amazing raffle items, delicious food, live entertainment, refreshing drinks, and an atmosphere overflowing with community spirit in celebration of Dr. Jen’s legacy.

A special shoutout to the Jude Zayac Foundation, another nonprofit powerhouse making an extraordinary difference in children’s lives. Together, we share the same mission: to ensure every child is cared for.

With this generous gift, we will be able to serve hundreds of children across NEPA, making sure they never go without a meal. As an all-volunteer organization, every single dollar goes directly to the kids.

Meet one of our volunteers, Molly! After retiring, Molly knew she wanted to give her time to something meaningful. She found Dinners for Kids three years ago and hasn’t looked back since.

“I feel so happy knowing kids are getting a meal every day. I heard about the program and knew they could use the help. I’ve met so many good people and made great friends. It’s a fun and fulfilling way to spend my time.”

⛳️ A heartfelt thank you to the Back Mountain Chamber for selecting Dinners for Kids as the beneficiary of their 6th Annual Golf Tournament at Huntsville Golf Club.

Thanks to the generosity of the Chamber, tournament participants, and sponsors, $1,650 was raised to help us continue providing nutritious meals to food-insecure children in our community.

Back Mountain Chamber Raises $1,650 for Dinners for Kids at 6th Annual Golf Tournament

The Back Mountain Chamber (BMC) hosted its 6th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the beautiful Huntsville Golf Club. Once again, the event was a great success, bringing together community members, businesses, and supporters for a day of golf, networking, and charitable giving.
This year’s nonprofit beneficiary was Dinners for Kids, a local organization committed to providing nutritious meals to food-insecure children in our area. Thanks to generous contributions from tournament participants, proceeds from the basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, and halfway house donations totaled $1,650.
A check presentation was held at the Back Mountain Chamber office on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, to officially donate the funds to Dinners for Kids.
The Chamber extends its sincere thanks to all golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who made the event possible and helped support such a meaningful cause.

📍Dinners for Kids provides meals to over 240 children across Wilkes-Barre, the West Side, and Dallas areas. We pack and deliver three times a week, making sure each child receives six nutritious meals every week.

We’re proud to be a year-round source of support for families in our community, ensuring that children have access to healthy, ready-to-eat meals no matter the season. 📆

Meet one of our volunteers, Marcy! Marcy has been volunteering with Dinners for Kids since 2017, helping with everything from packing to delivering meals. For her, it’s all about the kids.

“Food and children touch my heart. When you see the children, it’s all worth it. Sometimes, that one meal might be all they get that day.”

Marcy’s dedication reminds us why this work matters. It’s more than just food, it’s care, consistency, and compassion for children who need it most.

🍽️ What’s in a DFK meal? A balanced portion of protein, vegetables, and fruit, carefully prepared to nourish growing bodies and support healthy development.

But also:
A child who won’t go to bed hungry tonight.
A family with one less thing to worry about.
A moment of relief. A sense of care. A little more hope.

Every meal we deliver is more than just calories. It’s community, compassion, and the promise that someone out there cares.
