Love this initiative by Alton Memorial Hospital 🤍

They’re inviting parents who delivered there within the past year to come share their experience and feedback on OB-GYN care.

This is such an important opportunity to help shape respectful, patient-centered care in our community.

If you’ve delivered at Alton Memorial recently, they’re looking for patients to attend and share their voice. DM me if you plan to attend and we will connect you with someone at AMH!

Lunch and childcare support are provided!

When hospitals create space to truly listen, it makes a difference. 💛

At Alton Memorial Hospital, we believe that respectful, compassionate care starts with listening.

Parents who have delivered with Alton Memorial Hospital within the past year are invited to join us on Wednesday, March 4, from 11 a.m. to noon at Alton Memorial Hospital’s Cafe Conference Room A & B for a Respectful Care Conversation focused on our OB-GYN care. This informal lunch-and-learn is an opportunity to share feedback, reflect on your experience, and help shape the future of care for families in our community. Lunch and childcare support will be provided, along with access to helpful community resources.

“Creating space for parents to share their experiences is essential to delivering respectful, patient-centered care,” said Diane Baumgartner, BSN, RN, assistant nurse manager of women and infants. “When families feel heard, it strengthens trust and helps us better support every parent we serve.”

Motherhood doesn’t arrive with certainty.

It arrives with small, ordinary moments- feeding in the dark, trying again tomorrow, learning your baby by living with them.

Confidence isn’t something you’re missing.

It’s something that’s being built quietly, through repetition, presence, and care.

If today felt unsure, that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It means you’re doing the work of becoming. 🤍

One day, one feeding at a time.

Research on infant stomach capacity shows that most babies need 2-4 oz per feeding and this amount stays the same after the first month!

When bottle-feeding, paced feeding with biologically normal volumes helps minimize the difference between breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, making it easier for baby to transition back to the breast. This also prevents over feeding and supports a healthy breastfeeding relationship while you’re away.

Feed slowly, responsively, and with the right amount!
