Today we are going to answer a few FAQ's about our screenings!💬
✨First, let's start with what screenings are not...
Screenings are not evaluations and they do not result in a diagnosis, and you will not receive a report.
✨Now, for what screenings are...
Screenings are a great way to pull back the curtain and see if there is something more worth looking into. They are a great place to start if you have concerns and want to know if further testing is needed.
✨What should I expect at a screening❔
The screening takes about 15-20 minutes and is done in person or over zoom; our diagnosticians (Dr. Block or Meagan Wright) will give a few short assessments (subtests from standardized tests) that allow them to see if your child is at-risk for dyslexia or if other language-based issues present.
How do I get the results ❔
The last few minutes of the screening will be designated for the diagnostician to spend some time discussing the results and next steps with you.
✨✨A quick screening can help us understand how to support them next! It is important to note, a screening doesn't mean something is wrong. It means we get clarity, direction, and a plan!
