Although eating the correct foods and exercising regularly is extremely important, it takes more than that to maintain blood sugar balance!

One of the most important components of having appropriate insulin response and blood sugar levels is getting enough 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽!

Studies have indicated that in individuals with good health, a single night of sleep deprivation or poor quality sleep can result in reduced insulin sensitivity the next day!

Here’s how:
-Sensitivity to Insulin-
The hormone insulin, which is generated by the pancreas, aids in controlling blood sugar levels by promoting the uptake of glucose into cells. Reduced insulin sensitivity can result from sleep deprivation or poor quality sleep, which makes it more difficult for cells to respond to insulin and use glucose efficiently!

So what we’re getting at is… PRIORITIZE YOUR 𝗭𝗭𝗭’𝗦! 😴😴😴

It is expected of us in today’s culture to “do it all”. Put in a lot of effort at work, make time for friends and family, get enough sleep, exercise frequently, prepare wholesome foods, and yet find time for yourself. It’s just not feasible, and as a result, we are all under a great deal of stress. We neglect to eat or don’t properly nourish ourselves when we’re continuously running on cortisol.

So what can we do? We can ensure that every meal provides your body with actual whole foods that are high in quality sources of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Ensure that you consistently consume enough protein, tend to your needs, and say no when it’s necessary!
