🌏 Dinner Club – Featuring Australia’s Great Barrier Reef 🇦🇺🐠
Today at The Glenwood Assisted Living of Effingham, our Culinary Department treated residents to a dining experience inspired by Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The evening began with a flavorful oyster soup, followed by a delicious kiwi-marinated chicken breast, paired with ginger & orange glazed carrots, scalloped potatoes, and freshly baked Australian damper. To finish the meal, residents enjoyed a moist and flavorful banana cake.
Themed décor and plenty of fun photo opportunities made the night extra special—complete with a blow-up kangaroo that had everyone smiling! 📸🐾 Our residents truly loved both the unique menu and the festive atmosphere, making this Dinner Club a memorable success.

🥚🎯 Egg-cellent Fun & Cracker Challenges! 🎯🥚
Our friends from Empower Me Wellness brought lots of laughter (and a little friendly competition!) to Glenwood of Effingham today.
Residents practiced their small motor skills with an egg-on-a-spoon challenge—slow and steady wins the race! 🥄🐣 And just when we thought it couldn’t get any sillier, the crackers came out! Residents had a blast trying to balance crackers on their foreheads and pass them along—plenty of giggles guaranteed.

Today is the first day of school here in Effingham, and our resident Doc got in on the fun! He found his senior picture and couldn’t stop smiling while showing it off. ❤️💚

🎉 Welcome to the world, baby Atlas! 💙
We’re thrilled to share that one of our amazing care partners, Aleya, has welcomed her first child!
Atlas Levi made his debut on July 27th at 7:41 PM, weighing 5 lbs 1 oz and measuring 17.5 inches long.
Momma and baby are both doing wonderfully, and we couldn’t be happier for their growing family.

We were thrilled to receive a generous sweet corn donation this week — and it turned into a fun activity for everyone! Our wonderful DSD, Rachel, teamed up with one of our residents to shuck the corn and share some smiles. 😊💛
