Illinois has extended the open enrollment deadline for residents purchasing health insurance through the state marketplace, Get Covered Illinois. Coverage starting January 1, 2026, is now available for those who enroll by December 31. Residents who miss that date still have until January 15 to enroll for coverage beginning February 1. State officials say the extension is meant to give people more time to review their options and get help choosing a plan amid upcoming policy changes. Free enrollment assistance remains available through Get Covered Illinois. Keep in mind when choosing a new health plan that we are preferred providers with Blue Cross and Blue Shield and United Healthcare.

Effingham’s First Primary Care & Urgent Care Clinic
Effingham Prompt Care is where primary care meets urgent care. We are comprised of three local physicians and an excellent support team who provide same-day healthcare for a fraction of the cost and time of an emergency room.
PRIMARY CARE
We treat patients of all ages through our walk-in clinic. We also provide healthy lifestyle counseling, weight loss management, treatment of acute illness & chronic health conditions, and coordination of care with specialists when required.
URGENT CARE
Unlike other urgent care clinics in the area, at Effingham Prompt Care, patients are always seen by an experienced medical doctor. Effingham Prompt Care is also the area’s first combined primary and urgent care clinic.
OUR HISTORY
Effingham Prompt Care was founded in 2002 by Drs. Narinder and Arvinder Arora, who have been practicing pulmonary and internal medicine in Effingham and the surrounding communities for over 35 years. Effingham Prompt Care was the first urgent care clinic in Effingham. We are also proud to be the first combined primary and urgent care clinic in the area.
Effingham Prompt Care welcomed Dr. Navi Arora to the practice in 2013. He was born and raised in Effingham and enjoys assisting the people of central and southern Illinois in meeting their healthcare needs through education, patient care, and service to the community.
