Let's talk about seed oils a bit.
👉Seed oils such as cottonseed, corn, soy, sunflower, safflower, peanut and canola oil are great for you - IF your goal is INCREASED
✅INFLAMMATION
✅ARTERY DISEASE
✅CANCER
✅DEMENTIA
✅AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES
✅DEGENERATIVE JOINT DISEASE, just to name a few.
👉These seed oils, rich in omega-6 fatty acids, drive a process in your body that is very PRO-INFLAMMATORY.
👉Our bodies do need omega-6 fatty acids, but they need to be balanced with healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
👉Omega-3 fatty acids, found largely in salmon, flax and chia seeds, provide our bodies with the balance necessary for proper function.
👉We should maintain a maximum 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, and the average American is walking around at a 25:1 ratio or higher - THIS IS BAD!!!
👉The ANSWER: reduce the amount of dietary omega-6 fatty acids by avoiding products that contain seed oils and increase dietary omega-3 fatty acids by including fatty fish like salmon AND taking a daily fish oil supplement. You'll want to aim for 2,000 mg/day of EPA, one of the key omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil.
