Great tips if you have lost or found a dog! This is the unfortunate aftermath of the 4th of July festivities for some families and their fur babies.

If you or someone you know is missing a pet, please visit sdhumane.org/lostpet to see all of the animals in our online found pet database, as well as additional tools to help your search. You can also text "LOST" to 858-SAN-LOST for helpful tips and resources.

The days after July Fourth are always especially busy at San Diego Humane Society. Unfortunately, many stray pets have already arrived at our shelters (including those pictured here), and our teams are working to get them back to their families as quickly as possible. If you or someone you know is missing a pet, please visit sdhumane.org/lostpet to see all of the animals in our online found pet database, as well as additional tools to help your search. You can also text "LOST" to 858-SAN-LOST for helpful tips and resources.

Our hours are extended today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for all services, including intake and reunification. As a reminder, we're waiving reclaim fees for stray pets through July 8. Please share this information to help pet families know where to look for their missing pets!

Make sure everyone has some sort of identification in case of an untimely escape!
This can just be a sharpie phone number on duct tape if need be!

🌷🐾 Protect Your Pets This Spring! 🐾🌷

With warmer days and blooming flowers, spring is a beautiful time of year — but many popular seasonal plants can be toxic to your furry family members. 🌼🐶🐱

Some of the most dangerous include: 🚫 Lilies – Even a small nibble can cause acute kidney failure in cats
🚫 Tulips, Hyacinths, and Daffodils – Can trigger vomiting, diarrhea, and even seizures
🚫 Lily of the Valley – Contains toxins that can cause fatal heart arrhythmias
🚫 Rhododendrons & Azaleas – Cause vomiting, low heart rate, tremors, and more

Signs of poisoning can develop quickly — so if you suspect your pet has ingested a plant, call us or a pet poison hotline immediately.

📄 We've attached a Spring Toxicity Quick Guide to help you identify dangerous plants.
