Meet one of our FreshZest finalists!

“Russian Salad” is more than a recipe- it is a family tradition with deep roots. This dish traces back to the original Olivier Salad in 19th century Russia, later making its way through Latin America and becoming especially well known in Costa Rica for its bright pink color from fresh beets.

For the resident who submitted it, this recipe holds a lot of meaning. They shared that it brings back special family memories and has been passed down from grandmothers to mothers to daughters through the years! Its creamy texture, familiar ingredients, and nostalgic feel have made it a favorite for both children and adults.
