ECRMC continues its commitment to providing excellent care to our community. This past Saturday, the hospital upgraded its PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography) system. This advanced technology delivers highly detailed images of the body, supporting the diagnosis of various conditions โ€” especially cancer.

Thank you to Dr. Koorosh Kooros and his team for making an impact here in the Imperial Valley. Before he started practicing in El Centro, kids with stomach and digestive conditions had to travel to San Diego for specialty care.

During his time here, Dr. Kooros has helped so many children and teens address their stomach pains, Celiac disease, intestinal issues, and other digestive conditions. We're fortunate to have him practicing in our dynamic physician community and on staff at El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Note: When kids have tummy pain and other digestive issues, it's best to start with the child's pediatrician or primary care provider. Primary care doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants know when it's time to refer a child or teen to a pediatric gastroenterologist.

As the holiday season kicks off, ECRMC encourages our Imperial Valley neighbors and friends to enjoy festive meals while keeping health in mind.

Consuelo Nogales, Registered Dietitian and ECRMC Director of Nutrition Services, shares a simple reminder: "Healthy eating doesn't mean skipping your favorite holiday foods. It simply means enjoying meals mindfully."

Some of her easy reminders:
