Taking Care of our People 💙

This week, we’re raising the bar on diabetes awareness with our ECRMC employees. It’s all about caring for the caregivers.

Our professional staff wanted to raise awareness, offer glucose testing, expand knowledge and education and share healthy cooking tips with our employees. So today, employees were given a glucose test to raise awareness of the importance of “know your numbers.”

Our diabetes experts were on hand to translate the know-your-numbers experience into a practical understanding of this disease. In addition, our dietitians provided ECRMC employees with tips on healthy cooking to help them better care for themselves. All of these efforts translate into healthier, happier employees and better care for our patient population and this wonderful community we serve.

Life will serve up tense moments. That’s a guarantee. So creating a moment for a two-minute reset is a great stress management strategy. Psychiatric nurse practitioner Diondra Sams explains in this clip.

With April being Stress Awareness Month, the IVHD hopes the two-minute reset technique helps you now and in future months. And if you need more help managing stress, consider reaching out to your primary care provider. Their medical guidance will be beneficial, and they will know whether referral to a specialist would be helpful.

Our Oncology, Hematology and Infusion Center RNs deliver outstanding care. Recently, a patient shared her sentiments about the nurses she has come to know so well:

“Beatrice, Jesus and Salvador were very attentive the whole time I was receiving treatment. All of them were great and made sure I got in ASAP to get my transfusions. I appreciate their concern and care very much.”
