I love social media. For me, it has been a positive way to connect with billions of women, young girls, people, nonprofits, family, friends, and even those I may never have had the opportunity to positively connect with otherwise.

My humble reminder: while social media can be beautiful, we still need to balance it with real human contact too.

Here are 5 POSITIVE steps to increase human interaction. Step 5, I think, is the most important.

Step One — It starts with you. Simply decide that you want to attract positive thinking. Done!

Step Two — Make a list of just 3 things you absolutely LOVE about yourself and/or 3 positive compliments you have received.

Step Three — Place those 3 positive things in a visible place. I keep mine in my car, where family and friends can see them and ask about them. This is a positive way to strengthen your energy, because positive thoughts grow when we speak them and share them.

Remember: ego and darkness will try to attract doubt. Do your best to ignore that. This is POSITIVE.

Step Four — Say THANK YOU for the positive energy you attract. If it sounds silly, do it anyway. Blessings.

Step Five — Be a blessing to someone. Simply say, HI!!
I humbly think many of you will be surprised at how difficult this last and most important step can be.

Say hi, even if it starts with me here on Facebook. I sincerely encourage you to say hi to someone face to face. You can feel the positive energy when they respond in kindness.

And heaven forbid if they do not respond, please be kind, bless them anyway, and stay encouraged enough to say hi to someone else.

Please use common sense. Do not interrupt someone who is talking or standing in a group. Simply say hi to someone walking by or someone waiting in line.

Like many things, the first step may feel difficult. It was for me too. Now I do it all the time, and it feels so positive when people say hi in return — and SMILE too!

And if they do not respond, remember: it is not always about you. They may be facing a personal challenge.
