Did you know you can have your breast imaged in water? The QTScan uses ultra low frequency sound waves that pe*****te through the breast tissue, reading the entire layer and creating a true 3D volumetric rendering of your breasts. It’s a no-radiation, no compression, similar imaging to an MRI, and FDA cleared breast imaging. Check out our three locations across the country with more to come!

✨ Big news in breast imaging innovation ✨

A new CPT Category III code — X579T — has officially been established for advanced 3D breast imaging (like QT breast ultrasound tomography).

So what does this actually mean for you as a patient?

🔹 What is a CPT Category III code?
These codes are created by the American Medical Association to track *new and emerging medical technologies*. It’s a major step forward and it means this technology is gaining recognition and is being formally integrated into the healthcare system.

🔹 When does this go into effect?
📅 January 1, 2027
That’s when providers can officially begin using this code when submitting claims to insurance.

🔹 Will insurance cover it?
This is the part to understand clearly:
👉 Category III codes do **not guarantee insurance coverage (yet).**

Because this is an innovative, newer technology:

* Some insurance plans may choose to cover it early
* Others may consider it investigational at first
* Coverage decisions will evolve over time as more data and demand grow

🔹 What does this mean for you right now?
Many patients today choose to pay out-of-pocket for advanced imaging like this. Similar to how people invest in preventative health, functional medicine, or elective screenings.

💡 Think of it this way:
Insurance often *lags behind innovation* but that doesn’t make the technology any less valuable.

🌱Our perspective:
This is a huge step forward for improving how we detect and understand breast tissue, especially for women with dense breasts.

As awareness grows, so will access and coverage.

Did you know breast imaging can be done without radiation or contrast dye and still see what MRI sees?

A new peer-reviewed study shows 3D quantitative transmission ultrasound tomography (QT) closely matches MRI in measuring and characterizing breast tumors, including small cancers, multiple lesions, and dense breast tissue.

✨ No radiation
✨ No compression
✨ No contrast injections

This research was conducted at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and funded by the NIH.

Evidence-based. The future of breast imaging is here 💗

02/27/2026

Here’s a story you probably haven’t heard before… QTScan helped this family adopt.

Two years ago, a patient came to us with a breast lump after inconclusive mammogram and ultrasound results. Because some adoption agencies require proof you don’t have a life-threatening condition, she needed clear answers before moving forward. With inconclusive imaging the agency wasn’t willing to move forward with their adoption application, delaying it by a year.

With extremely dense breast tissue, getting clarity hadn’t been easy, until her QTScan. The finding was found to be seemingly benign, giving her the peace of mind, and move along in the adoption process.

Today, her family is complete. 💕
Clarity matters. Peace of mind changes lives.

🌍 Today is World Dense Breast Day 🌍

Did you know that nearly 50% of women over 40 have dense breast tissue?

Here’s why that matters:
On a traditional mammogram, dense tissue and cancer both appear white, making it like looking for a snowball in a snowstorm. ❄️➡️❄️
This can lead to missed cancers, delayed diagnoses, and increased anxiety for patients.

That’s why we’re so passionate about innovative imaging solutions like the QTScan.
Unlike traditional imaging, the QTScan uses reflection and speed of sound volumetric imaging, giving clinicians a clearer view between dense breast tissue and its FDA-cleared for dense breast screening.

This is a huge step forward for early detection and peace of mind for millions of women. 💗

Dense breasts don’t have to be a barrier to accurate screening we finally have the tools to bridge the gap.

✨ Here’s to better imaging, earlier detection, and empowered patients.

Most 3D imaging modalities (like mammography or tomosynthesis) create slices of the breast like flipping through the pages of a book. You see a lot of detail, but only one layer at a time.

Volumetric 3D rendering is like holding a sculpture of the entire breast in your hands. You can rotate it, look at it from every angle, and understand the true depth and shape of what’s inside.

✨ Why it matters:
• Dense tissue becomes clearer
• Structures aren’t distorted by compression
• Blind spots shrink
• False positives and unnecessary follow-ups are reduced

It’s not just imaging, it’s reimagining how we see breast health.

Breast imaging today looks like this:
🔹 Mammogram = good baseline, but limited for dense breasts
🔹 Ultrasound = supplemental, but operator-dependent + limited depth
🔹 MRI = powerful, but costly + not comfortable for every patient

👉 Enter QTScan:
• 3D whole breast ultrasound
• No compression, no radiation
• FDA-cleared as an adjunct modality

It fills the gap for younger women, dense breasts, and patients who need clarity without the risks of radiation.

The future of breast imaging isn’t “one-size-fits-all.” It’s personalized — and QTScan is part of that future.

Ask any woman about mammograms and you’ll hear one word: painful.
Compression is uncomfortable, anxiety-inducing, and one reason women delay screening.

QTScan changes that:
✨ Comfortable (no compression)
✨ Radiation-free
✨ Whole-breast imaging in ~10 minutes

Technology should serve patients, not the other way around.
