We are a team of qualified experienced professionals who work collaboratively with families to address challenges ranging from sensory processing difficulties to substance abuse. We support children, adolescents, adults and families to achieve progress more quickly and potentially decrease the length of ongoing treatment.

Recognizing if your child needs therapy for gross motor skill development can be tricky, as every child progresses at their own pace. However, here are some signs to watch for:

Delayed milestones:

Infants: Difficulty rolling over, sitting up, crawling, or walking by expected ages.

Toddlers: Clumsy movements, trouble climbing stairs, avoiding physical activities, or difficulty throwing and catching balls.

Preschoolers: Poor balance and coordination, difficulty hopping, skipping, or riding a bike.

Recognizing the signs that your child may need Speech Therapy can be a bit tricky, especially during early development. Here are some key indicators to watch for:

Delayed babbling or first words: By 12 months, most children should be babbling and using a few simple words.

Limited vocabulary: At 2 years old, a typical child should have around 50 words and can begin forming simple sentences.

By 3 years, their vocabulary should expand to around 200 words and they should be using complex sentences.

Mispronunciations: It's normal for young children to mispronounce some sounds, but persistent incorrect pronunciation of most sounds (such as "th" or "r") past a certain age may require intervention.

Stuttering: If your child stutters consistently for more than 6 months or their stuttering disrupts communication, consult a speech therapist.

Anxiety and distress: Children with OCD often experience significant anxiety and distress related to their obsessions and compulsions.

Important things to keep in mind:

These are just some common signs, and not every child who exhibits these behaviors will have OCD.

It's important to consult with a qualified mental health professional for a proper diagnosis.

Early intervention is crucial for treatment and managing OCD symptoms in children.

However, here are some common signs to look for:

❤️ Over-responsiveness to sensory input:

❤️ Auditory: Dislike of loud noises, startled easily by sounds, difficulty focusing in noisy environments.

❤️ Visual: Squinting or covering eyes in bright light, strong aversion to certain textures or patterns, easily distracted by visual stimuli.

❤️ Tactile: Dislike of being touched, picky eating due to texture sensitivities, avoiding certain clothes or shoes.

❤️ Taste and Smell: Picky eating due to strong reactions to specific tastes or smells, gagging easily.
Proprioceptive: Clumsy or awkward movements, difficulty with balance and coordination, bumping into things.

❤️ Vestibular: Dislike of movement, motion sickness, fear of heights or swings.
