Did you know...

The studio reportedly used Jell-O powder to create the multicolored horses in the Emerald City scenes. The animal actors had to be filmed quickly before they could lick the sugary coating off.

The magical snow was dangerous. The "snow" that falls on Dorothy and her friends in the poppy field was actually 100% industrial-grade chrysotile asbestos.

The Cowardly Lion's costume was made of real lion fur. The heavy outfit weighed almost 100 pounds and was extremely hot under the bright Technicolor lights. Actor Bert Lahr sweated so much that two assistants had to dry the costume overnight for the next day's shoot.

The Tin Man nearly killed the first actor. Buddy Ebsen was originally cast as the Tin Man, but the aluminum dust in his makeup coated his lungs, causing a severe allergic reaction that put him in the hospital. He was replaced by Jack Haley, and the makeup was changed to a safer paste.

A "lost" jacket from the author was used as a costume. The wardrobe department found a tattered coat for actor Frank Morgan to wear as Professor Marvel. A tailor later confirmed it had originally belonged to L. Frank Baum, the author of the Oz books.

The ruby slippers were not from the book. In Baum's original novel, Dorothy's magical shoes were silver. They were changed to ruby for the film to take full advantage of the new Technicolor process.

Answer: Teleportation because I have school, work, friends, and family
