Join us in recognizing My Hoang, LPN as a DAISY Award winner!

My received this recognition after being nominated by a recent patient, Sabiha.

See part of Sabiha's nomination for My below:

"I want to take a moment and express my deepest gratitude to a truly exceptional nurse- My. During one of the most difficult times in my life, when I was very, very sick, she stood by me and fought for my care with unwavering dedication.

She didn't just treat my symptoms, she treated me like a human being who needed someone in their corner.

My was the person that made me feel like I wasn't alone- like someone was truly advocating for me. She embodies everything our hospital stands for. She is the living definition of our motto: WE CARE.

If I ever find myself in the hospital again, I can only hope and pray that My will be by my side once more. In our most vulnerable moments, we need healthcare professionals who are willing to fight for us, who see us as more than just a chart.

Thank you My, You made all the difference!"

Join us in celebrating our latest "WE CARE" recipient, Alice Wi******er, Respiratory Therapist.

Check out the amazing things a co-worker shared about her experience with Alice.

Alice goes above and beyond. As a new RN in a hospital setting, when I started on nights, Alice was patient and kind. She would take time to educate me on Bipaps and CPaps, helping me to have a better understanding of the mechanism of action and how it affects the patient as a whole and not just their breathing.

W (welcoming) - Alice is welcoming to everyone regardless of position or status. She welcomes families and staff to be involved in care and is kind with a smile on her face.

E (excellence) - This word for me describes Alice to her core. She challenges others to be better. She works endless hours to ensure that the department she is in has coverage so that the patients in our community and hospital have an experienced RT who cares. She is always available to help other RTs as well as nursing staff with a respiratory need. Her “I’m on my way” in a stressful situation brings comfort and ease to those she works with.

C (compassionate)- yet another word that describes Alice. Alice is one of the most compassionate individuals I have ever met. Not only caring for her department but investing time in families, patients, and other staff to make our WHOLE hospital better.

A (adaptability)- she transitions quickly and efficiently from one task to the other. From being in the ER assisting in a code to rushing to the unit to give treatments or assist with another RT need. She handles each task with the patient at the center of her care.

R (respect) - Alice has respect for herself and others. She is not one to rush out “when her shift is over” yet she will stay to complete task and ensure the patient is safe and treatment is initiated before clocking out. She is respectful of other staff members and believes in a collaborative work environment.

E (Equality)- Alice believes and shows equal treatment to all. From patients, to families, physicians and hospital staff. She treats everyone equally and without favor of any one thing.

I cannot say enough about Alice. I don’t believe that I would be the nurse that I am today without her taking the time to educate and teach me. Nor do I believe that our hospitals RT department would be what it is. When I think of WE CARE, Alice is who comes to the forefront of my mind and I think sometimes we can forget how important different departments are. But she exemplifies the true character of a team player and believes in a Collaborative team working environment.

Thank you Alice for all you do!
