Providing End-of-Life Care and Changing End-of-Life Culture for Bradley, Calhoun, Columbia, Ouachita, & Union Counties in Arkansas www.lifetouchhospice.org
Arkansas Hospice provides a comprehensive care program to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Hospice is the practice of care, not a specific place of care. Arkansas Hospice enables patients with a projected lifespan of six months or less due to serious illness to live their final days to the fullest in the comfort of their homes – or in home-like settings – surrounded by loved ones. Arkansas Hospice can help when:
-There is a life-limiting prognosis.
-Patient and family request expert symptom control and pain management rather than aggressive, curative treatment. There is an exception for pediatric patients, who can receive Arkansas Hospice comfort care concurrently with curative care treatment.
-The illness has advanced, and there are questions about care options. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those facing serious illness and loss by surrounding them with love and embracing them with the best physical, emotional, and spiritual care. Our vision is to be the leader in hospice and palliative care through education, innovation, and transformation of the patient, family, and community experience. Our Values
We value L.I.F.E.:
Love and compassion for those we serve. Integrity and respect in all our interactions and relationships. Faithfulness and stewardship of our time, talents, and resources. Excellence and uncompromising quality in the care and service we provide. Life Touch Hospice is a part of the Arkansas Hospice Family of Care.

Since 1991 Life Touch Hospice has served families in Bradley, Calhoun, Columbia, Ouachita, and Union counties in South Arkansas. Our offices are located in El Dorado, Magnolia, and Warren. Having three offices across our five counties allows us to respond quickly, be active in the local community, and helps ensure that our care is provided with a personal touch.
Everything we do is done with intention. Could we have one office that is centrally located in our five counties? Sure. But we wouldn’t be able to reach families as quickly when a question or emergency arises. Could be provide care only in homes and facilities? Absolutely. But we built an In-Patient Hospice Unit to serve South Arkansas. Just meeting the basics is not an option. We were one of HEALTHCAREfirst’s 2019 Hospice Honors recipients. The program compares hospice organizations across the country and selects those that go above and beyond according to surveys filled out by the actual families each hospice served. We take great pride in caring for this community and we appreciate every opportunity to love and serve patients and families.
Through the years, many individuals have helped shape Life Touch. With each patient and family we are honored to know and serve, we are reminded of how blessed we are to be in this community. As a non-profit, we are grateful for a community that has supported our mission since inception. We could not provide the care we do without every single donor, advocate, and volunteer. Our mission to serve individuals with serious illnesses and their families will remain constant, but will not be complete until we are providing care to each and every person in need.
We still have a ways to go in defeating the many myths that still hang around Hospice. We believe if we are ever going to create a better end-of-life experience, we must change the culture around death and dying. We must work to remove the fear, confusion, stress, and anxiety that surrounds this topic. If you have ever experienced the wonderful care that is hospice, please be a vocal advocate to those around you.
Life Touch provides quality care for patients with serious illnesses and their families. We use an interdisciplinary team approach to enable patients and families to cope with serious illnesses. By providing educational and supporting services, staff and volunteers enable families and caregivers to provide care to the patients while residing in their own environment.
Too often people wait too long to call us. Please call before the crisis. Our care is geared toward the last 6 months to a year of someone’s life. Unfortunately, the average time we have to care for someone is less than a month. Do not let a misunderstanding of hospice or a fear of the unknown prevent you or a loved one from receiving the best care at the right time.
Our services are covered by Medicare/Medicaid, most private insurances, and the VA standard benefit. No one is turned away for inability to pay. We can provide care to all ages.
Life Touch is a non-profit agency of the SHARE Foundation of El Dorado, AR.
