The BEAR Implant is giving young athletes new ways to heal from ACL injuries.

14-year-old soccer player Payton Tapia, a patient of Dr. Ikechukwu Onyedika at Orthopaedic Surgeons Associates, successfully returned to sport nine months after her first BEAR Implant procedure.

She then sustained a new ACL injury in her opposite knee. Because of her positive experience the first time, she chose the BEAR Implant a second time.

Dr. Onyedika says the BEAR Implant is a less-invasive option that helps protect growth plates, avoids graft-site pain, and lets the body restore the ligament naturally.

After tearing her ACL a second time in her opposite knee, soccer player Payton Tapia trusted the BEAR Implant again.
