Our research on childhood fatty liver disease (MASLD) just came out in Annals of Hepatology, and I couldn’t be prouder.
The takeaway?
What happens in childhood doesn’t stay in childhood.
Fatty liver can persist into adulthood and raise the risk for diabetes, heart disease, and serious liver complications.
This is why we screen.
This is why we educate families.
This is why early intervention matters.

In many cases, the virus can disrupt the gastrointestinal (GI) system, leading to symptoms like diarrhea and dehydration, especially in young children and vulnerable populations. Proper vaccination and awareness are key to protecting our communities. 🧬✨

🧲🧸Magnetic toys may look harmless but they can be extremely dangerous for young children.
When more than one magnet is swallowed, they can attract each other inside the body, causing serious internal injury, including bowel damage or perforation. In many cases, children may look completely fine at first.

This story is a reminder that early action matters and that prevention starts at home.

✔️ Avoid high-powered magnetic toys
✔️ Remove loose magnets from your home
✔️ Keep older siblings’ toys out of reach
🚨 If you think a child may have swallowed magnets, go to the ER right away even if they have no symptoms.
