Ask you x-ray technologist to shield you whenever is possible. X-rays don’t distinguish between patient age, gender, ethnicity or body part. X-rays are great tool in medicine they to help us diagnose injuries, fractures, and diseases but they can also be damaging to human cells. Since we cannot; see, touch, smell, taste or hear X-rays, it is ALWAYS a good idea to shield patients. If you have any questions about x-rays services call us at 915-613-2748

Prevention is key!
We usually relate osteoporosis to be a female condition but the reality is that men also get osteoporosis. Statistically speaking, 1 in 5 men over the age of 55 will suffer from a fracture related to osteoporosis. Do not forget to ask you doctor for an osteoporosis screening DEXA exam... osteoporosis is preventable and manageable.
