Irene and Maria Elena Lazo Obituary
“Your voices have been heard. You have heard the voice of God”. RFJR.
Irene and Maria Elena of Corona, California entered eternal rest on 02-03-2021 and 03-03-2027
respectively. Both sisters were born and raised in various cities in California where they went to
school and learned to communicate through American Sign Language. They were supported and
loved by the deaf communities
well as their families in California. New Mexico, Texas, and
One of the Lazo family s favorite place to visit was Canutillo, Texas where their aunt
Genoveva Lazo Gallegos and
multitude of cousins spent hours of fun exchanging written notes
of laughable experiences and notes that helped everyone understand the discourse at hand
Irene and Maria Elena each worked for and retired from the United States Postal Service with
more than 28 years each of service Irene and Maria Elena were preceded in death by their
parents Teodoro P. Lazo who served in WWII, and Alejandrina U. Lazo, of Corona, California,
multiple cousins including Enrique U. Avina and their maternal grandmother, Maria Malila
Salas Urzua, The Lazo sisters will be remembered for their unique and diverse character and
abilities. A special thank you to Marilyn Papillon, Ana Maria Frietze, Ken Kurita, Veva Chavira,
Evangelina and Lito Aguilar, Raymond Franco, Carol Camarillo, the deaf community, and all
family members for their concern, support, and help in the lives and passing of the Lazo gris
