We all need some sunshine ☀️ on a daily basis for:
1. Vitamin D Production
Sunlight helps your skin produce vitamin D, which is essential for strong bones, a healthy immune system, and mood regulation.
2. Mood Enhancement
Exposure to sunlight can boost serotonin levels, helping improve mood and reduce feelings of depression or anxiety.
3. Improved Sleep
Natural light helps regulate your circadian rhythm, promoting better sleep at night.
4. Skin Conditions
Controlled sun exposure can help with certain skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and acne.
While some sunlight is healthy, too much can be harmful:
• Sunburn: Damages the skin, causing pain and peeling.
• Skin Aging: UV rays accelerate wrinkles and sun spots.
• Skin Cancer: Long-term exposure increases the risk of melanoma and other skin cancers.
• Eye Damage: UV rays can harm your eyes and increase the risk of cataracts.
Reminder to...
Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher).
Wear hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing.
Seek shade during peak hours (10 AM - 4 PM).
Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours or after swimming/sweating.
