Children's Grief Center of El Paso By sharing their experiences and feelings in a peer support group, families learn that they are not alone and that there is hope for their future.

CGC creates compassionate and inclusive spaces that promote healing and well-being among grieving children, youth, and their families through community-based grief support groups, individual and family services, and grief-informed education and advocacy. We are a non-profit organization that provides healing and hope in a safe and loving environment for grieving children, teens and their families following the death of a loved one. Our goal is to strengthen the lives of grieving children and families by providing loving support and life affirming skills in a safe environment. We value the conscious choice that families make in committing to the difficult work of grief and support them through their efforts.

Exciting news for the Children's Grief Center of El Paso! 🌻

You may have heard that later this year, will be moving into its - a major milestone that has been years in the making. This step forward represents stability, growth, and an even greater ability to serve and in our . 💚

We are incredibly grateful for the vision and hard work of our Board of Directors, the leadership of our Executive Director, Kathy Revtyak, and the generosity of community supporters who made this possible. Your dedication, due diligence & belief in our mission have turned a dream into reality.

In June, we hosted the Children's Grief Center of El Paso’s 2nd Annual ⛺️, welcoming 95 campers ages 4-68 for two days of , , and . experienced support groups, art, outdoor games, drumming circles, sound baths & even caregiver chair massages - all made possible by our amazing .

🌟 Volunteer Opportunity: Help a Child Heal from Grief 🌟
The Children’s Grief Center of El Paso is looking for compassionate Volunteer Group Facilitators to guide peer support groups for grieving children, teens, and adults.

🕊️ As a facilitator, you’ll help create a safe, healing space where participants can share, connect, and grow after loss. No experience required—just empathy, commitment, and a desire to support others.

📅 Groups meet biweekly in the evenings (6–9 PM)
📍 Training Dates: August 23 & August 30 (9 AM–3 PM)
💵 Fee: $25 (includes training materials + background check)
🧠 Full training and ongoing support provided!

📌 Minimum age: 18
📌 1-year commitment required

Father’s Day isn’t easy for everyone

While some people are celebrating this weekend, others are quietly grieving.
💔 Maybe their dad has died.
💭 Maybe their relationship was complicated.
🕰️ Maybe they never got to know him.
😞 Or maybe this day just feels… heavy.

If that’s you—please know your feelings are valid. You don’t have to “get over it” or pretend you’re okay.

💙 Take what you need today—rest, space, reflection, or support. There’s no right way to grieve and if you’re someone who is celebrating this weekend, we invite you to carry a little extra empathy. You never know who’s hurting quietly.

Not sure how to support someone who’s grieving their dad this Father’s Day? Try this:

🤍 Say their dad’s name — it shows you remember him too.
📨 Reach out with a simple message — “Thinking of you today.”
🕯️ Invite them to share a memory — only if they want to.
🧡 Respect their boundaries — they may want company or space.
☕ Offer comfort without trying to fix it — just being there matters most.
