Dear Valued Patients, Some of my staff and I were able to attend the Border Health Conference on Thurday and the Texas Medical Association (TMA) conference Friday and Today of the TMA's Business in Medicine being held here in El Paso. We have had the honor to meet the TMA President and many of their staff and many Physicians from all over the State of Texas. We wanted to join this incredible conference to be able to find ways to stay up to date on many important topics to better serve you. Have a great weekend!! We will be back on Monday for all of your Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology needs!!

Pollen counts for today and expected for the rest of the week. As the rain chances subside, our pollen counts are rising again. (We have been watching the pollen counts over the last 2 weeks. The rise has been consistently in the Med-High range).
With all of the rain and high temperatures we have had over the last month, Grass and weeds have made an incredible comeback.
In our area, Bermuda Grass and Fescue grass are still growing.
We also are having W**d pollens from Ragweeds, Chenopods, and Sagebrush/Mugwort weeds.
The Term, Chenopods, is the name used for all genus of broad leaf weeds. Carelessweeds/Pigweed, Lamb's Quarters, Kochia Scoparia/Firebush, Russian Thistle/Tumbleweeds are weeds in this category.
We have many pollen producing plants here in El Paso. Especially in the areas near the Rio Grande River and areas where water has gathered after the rain.

It's back to school in the Borderland!!
Is your child ready with all necessary school forms, prescriptions, and presented with the variety of different Epinephrine Pens?

Dear Valued Patients,
A couple of years ago, we shared a nice way to gather all of your Emergency medications into one box as your child goes to school, daycare, and after school programs.
You can put into the box the following:
*Epi Pens twinpack,
*Liquid Benadryl, Zyrtec, Or Claritin,
*Albuterol Inhaler,
*School forms,
*sharpie pen (to write time of reaction, name of patient, Date of birth and allergen on forearm),
*small measuring cup for liquid medicines,
*3 cc syringe for drawing up liquid medication for young children (without needle!)
*Small pen and paper,
*Label with child's name, Date of Birth, emergency contact name, their phone number and food allergen.
We hope this helps you as you are preparing for this school year!!
Listed are pictures of Epinephrine Pen devices from different companies. Some of these devices may and may not be on the Preferred Medication list on your insurance.
We can help you with the necessary prescriptions so your child will be ready in the event of an unfortunate exposure.

On Sunday, we were enjoying the beautiful day outdoors near Central overlooking the East side and Central El Paso. The mountain is quite beautiful and green this time of year!!
Have you seen how colorful our Franklin Mountains have become?
Temporarily, our Pollen counts will be low due to the moisture from our recent rains. .
Just know that the molds favor the wet, cool soil. The Grasses, W**ds, and Some trees love the water and will grow quite fast in this weather!
When we start seeing drier days, the Pollen counts will also return.
In the pictures, We captured a dust storm arriving before the storms this past Sunday.
Unfortunately, we cant escape the dust, but we can help you if the dust and pollen trigger your Asthma or Allergies!!
