I've had several wedding consultations in the last week, and I know there's a few Bridal/Quince fairs coming up, so I'll be reposting some of my event tips for y'all accumulated over 15 years of doing this!!!

FIRST: The better you organize before your event, the more you'll enjoy your day. DO NOT just leave it to chance and figure you'll "go with the flow on that day" or worse, you try to take it "organically". DON'T. Your contractors (like me) are often paid for time we work (like me), so we NEED to know when you want things to happen.

Often I get told, "This is the first I've done this." Me: Lolz, this isn't the first time this month for me!

One of the eye-opening moments I'm used to getting when I first meet a client is when they see how quickly I can visualize their day and can tell them what could and could not work. The better the day is planned, down to the details, the less probable it will be to get "surprises' that day, which usually aren't good.

When I had my own shop, and I was approached by a potential client who asked to see my "portfolio", I'd simply show them my computer and whatever my last few events were. I was never nervous about showing them everything because not all the photos are "perfect. Not every photo every was perfectly posed, focused, lighted, or edited. An event has a thousand moments and my job is to show my clients their event, even if they're not perfect, because the moment itself was perfect, and THAT is why my clients return :)

Thank you to Petra & Miguel and their family and all their perfect moments I captured for them!

Congratulations to Petra & Miguel on their 40th Anniversary! They celebrated the event at San Elizario mission. San Eli is where I first started teaching and the mission is very much the center of San Eli life. I like to show it off whenever I can!

Debbie runs "Reach for a Star", and organization that grants wishes for sick kids and occasionally adults, as was the case today. I've been doing side quests like this for her for over 10 years and I'll never tell her no.

Thank you to PDN Children's Development center for inviting my boss and I back for their Christmas picture carnival. This year, they got me a Grinch costume. At first, they didn't give me the mask, but I convinced them that my face was scarier than the Grinch, that the kids actually wanted to see! Only 2 kids cried, but more actually came to me for a hug and merriment!

Final shot of the day goes to Mia ( ) and this killer backless dress. Although there were a variety of props and backdrops, sometimes its better to go for simplicity and elegance.
