💬 A New Way to Communicate 💬
Some individuals with autism may be non-verbal, which means they don’t use spoken words to communicate. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have a voice — they just need the right tools to share it. 💙
Recently at our San Angelo clinic, one of our families received an iPad to be used as an AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) device. AAC devices are a tool that helps individuals express themselves in new ways.
Thanks to the support of the Autism Alliance of the Concho Valley , this iPad was provided free of charge and includes the LAMP app, which uses symbols and consistent patterns to help individuals build language and communicate with others.
The Empower team, AACV, and family came together to celebrate the occasion. This device will be a true game-changer in helping her connect with others and be heard every day. 🗣️
