Job Description
The Physical Therapy Tech, under the direct, on-site supervision of the Physical Therapist or Certified Physical Therapist Assistant, will carry out procedures and tasks for which he/she has been trained and deemed competent. The following is a summary of major essential functions of the Physical Therapy Tech. Other duties may be performed as directed. Specific functions may, from time to time, change.
1.Demonstrate competency in Physical Therapy treatment procedures including resistive, active, active assistive and passive exercise; therapeutic activities to include safe use of the swings, scooter boards, and other mobility devices; transfer activities; various ball activities; functional training, and fine motor activities and progressions.
2.Assist the PT with treatment procedures as needed.
3. Demonstrate positive interpersonal communication skills while maintaining standards of professional ethics.
4. Demonstrate skills of effective time management.
5. Observe patient confidentiality and follow HIP AA guidelines.
